ROADHOG to receive BUFFS days after Overwatch 2 rework
Everyone’s favorite big-bellied tank is already getting a buff just days after his rework. On November 14th, Roadhog received his highly anticipated rework, which included a new ability and a reworked kit. However, just days after its launch, Blizzard is already looking to tweak the pot-bellied tank.
They Just Can’t Seem to Get it Right
Overwatch aficionados will remember the initial launch of Overwatch 2 and what a menace Roadhog was during those dark, early days. At launch, Roadhog had been unperforming. However, Blizzard quickly buffed his ultimate (allowing players to utilize other skills during the ultimate’s channel time).
This led to Roadhog dominating the early Overwatch 2 meta as one of the strongest and self-reliant heroes. Much of this was due to the shift to solo tanks. Some nerfs were then introduced to his one-shot combo of Chain Hook and Scrap Gun.
Then, Blizzard made the decision to increase his sustainability, targeting his Take a Breather ability. Now, it amplified healing for a short duration after application. This made Roadhog incredibly difficult to burst down, as high burst healing champions such as Moira or Ana paired with Roadhog made him nigh invincible with a semi-reliable one-shot combo still.
Finally, in his newest rework, Roadhog’s Scrap Gun had its numbers tweaked, his Take a Breather has been reworked into a resource-based ability, and he was given a new ability in Pig Pen which is meant to aid Roadhog in maintaining a killing field near to him and reduce the number of agile Heroes kiting him.
Instead, what occurred was Roadhog became much easier to kill, however, his one-shot combination has become more lethal and reliable, resulting in a curious amalgamation akin to a glass cannon tank.

Planned Changes
Lead hero designer Alec Dawson has already released a statement to the effect that the team was looking to adjust Roadhog’s survivability with a buff. The buff is anticipated to be released by today (17th of November).
“We’ll be making some tuning adjustments to Roadhog’s Take a Breather before the weekend (aiming for tomorrow). Roadhog had jumped up in viability across all rank thresholds, but there’s room here to increase Take a Breather’s impact overall.”
