RLCS Boston Spring Major: The Final Major of the Year
There is a little over a week to go until the RLCS Boston Spring Major and the teams are gearing up to face their first opponents. This is the last Major in the Rocket League calendar this year before the World’s tournament. That means that everyone will be fighting their hardest for those all important RLCS points that could seed them directly to Worlds. With very few familiar faces in this year’s Spring Major, it’s going to be difficult to call who will come out on top.

Surprises from North America
Five teams have made it through to the RLCS Boston Spring Major from the North American region. However, they might not include the teams fans were expecting:
- Spacestation Gaming
- FURIA Esports
- Optic Gaming
- Complexity Gaming
- Gen.G Mobil1 Racing
That’s right, neither G2 nor FaZe Clan have earned enough points to play at this Major. This will mark the very first time either team has not made it through. While fans will certainly be disappointed, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Worlds are out of reach for them. And new talents now have an opportunity to shine.
EU Teams at the RLCS Boston Spring Major
Things were significantly less spicy over in the EU during this split. Not only have previous Major winners from this year qualified, but the further 3 teams are definite RLCS Major veterans:
- Team BDS
- Karmine Corp
- Team Vitality
- Team Liquid
- Moist Esports.
All eyes will be on Karmine Corps’ games since their decisive win at the Winter Split Major just a couple of months ago. Their first opponents will be Ground Zero Gaming, and OCE team playing their third ever S-tier Major. While it could be said that Karmine Corps shouldn’t have too much trouble here, it’s certainly worth tuning in. If there’s one thing to be said about Rocket League, it’s unpredictable!

OCE, SAM, MENA and APAC - Not to be Forgotten
While there’s no doubting that the EU and NA regions are likely to dominate the RLCS Boston Spring Major, we shouldn’t forget about the other regions competing. Oceania, South America, Middle East and North Africa and Asia Pacific will be putting on a show for fans in Boston. The qualified teams include:
- Ground Zero Gaming (OCE)
- PWR (OCE)
- KRU Esports (SAM)
- Ninjas in Pyjamas (SAM)
- Rule One (MENA)
- Elevate (APAC)
With only 1 or 2 spots each, these regions have an uphill battle against NA and EU domination. They’re already some of the best Rocket League teams in the world, but they’ll certainly be looking to knock these teams off their throne. But if the NA rankings are anything to go off, it’s clear that the current gameplay is turning up some surprises.
The RLCS Boston Spring Major is due to kick off on June 6th 2023, with the Grand Finals taking place on June 9th. That’s only a couple of days to fit in a whole lot of Rocket League. You can tune in on official Twitch channels to keep up with all of the latest action in the games.
