The European Bot lane legend Martin “Rekkles” Larsson made a viewership breaking LCK CL debut two weeks ago. While he performed exceptionally well, T1 Academy struggled to keep up and lost their opening game. The troubles for T1 academy had just started.

They lost the next three games, going 0-4 coming into Week 3. Taking on DRX Challengers this weekend, Rekkles and co. secured their first win by winning the final game of the Bo3 series.

Rekkles on Milio finished the game with 0/0/10 KDA, T1 Academy finished the game with a 6K Gold lead. Smash on Aphelios was the MVP of the game. The Rumble - Varus bot lane from T1 did not work as expected and DRX Academy won back the second game, with Kania’s Lee Sin helping them force the final map. Rekkles on Janna dominated the final game with a 100% Kill participation, finishing the game with a 0/1/13 KDA.

The win re-ignites the hopes of Rekkles and T1 Academy fans.

Talking about the win, Rekkles said ‘[He] feels they are all adjusting really well and are only getting better, and the teamwork between him and his ADC (Smash) is getting better’

Obviously a single win does not change the mistakes of the past few games, but it serves as a stepping stone and confidence boost for the upcoming games. The four game loss streak had raised some eyebrows, but the win today alleviates the doubts and fills the fans with anticipation of the future games.
