The first week of action at the LEC Spring 2025 saw some champions shine brighter than others on the rift. With Fearless Draft in full effect, which champions are taking center stage as teams and players continue to test the limits of their champion pools?

Let's have a look at the most picked champions of the Week 1 of the LEC Spring, including the bot lane's overwhelming presence at the top.

The Bot Lane Takes Priority

All three of the most picked champions over the course of Week 1 came from the bot lane, with two of them being ADCs. In fact, no other role saw a champion be picked 7 times.

Now that lane swaps are gone, being on the better side of a bot lane matchup is becoming increasingly important in pro play, meaning teams are not afraid to spend their early picks in the draft on securing a strong bot lane for themselves.

Not only are all two of the three most picked champions ADCs, but the most banned champion of Week 1 at the LEC Spring happens to be one as well. With a whopping 14 total bans, Kalista takes the top spot as the champion teams least wanted to see on the Rift.

Varus keeps climbing the ranks

The pick that stands out the most is, without a doubt, Varus. After performing great at First Stand earlier in the year, players in the LEC seem to have caught on to the strength of the champion in patch 25.06. During the first week of games, Varus won 5 of the games in which he was picked, while losing only twice, amounting to a remarkable 71.4% win rate.

Surprisingly, Varus was only banned twice throughout the week, but expect that number to rise when Week 2 comes around if teams fail to find a way to deal with the pick.

Mid Lane Variety Reigns the LEC

Over the course of Week 1, mid lane was the role to see the most unique champion picks at the LEC Spring. With a total of 16 different champion picks, mid lane players in the LEC continue to show their incredible adaptability and deep champion pools.

Just like at First Stand, the most picked champion in the mid lane continues to be Taliyah, a solid pick that provides her team with fast rotations and invaluable pick potential.

Meanwhile, over on the other side, support was the role with the least unique champion picks with 10 in total. For now, the four engage picks of Rakan, Alistar, Rell and Nautilus continue to command the role in pro play.
