It appears that Caedrel and the rest of Los Ratones have found a home for the coming year. Following his and Sjokz' inaugural League Awards, Caedrel continued to make a splash in the League of Legends scene by defeating Jankos and co. to win the NNO Cup. Now, according to a report by Sheep Esports' Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger, Los Ratones are ready for more serious competition as they prepare to join the NLC for the 2025 season.

The NLC make room for Los Ratones

Moving into 2025, the NLC, the Northern European ERL, looks to expand from 8 teams, to 10. Los Ratones have been quick to jump at the opportunity, as one of the two new slots will be occupied by Caedrel, Rekkles and Nemesis' new team.

Meanwhile, the remaining NLC slot will be granted to whichever team wins the Last Chance Qualifier for remaining NLC Division 2 teams.

These coming changes to the NLC come as a part of a restructuring of the ERLs format as a whole, as well as a bigger wave of changes coming to the European Tier-2 scene.

Among these coming changes will be the possibility of having first-person-view streams from players, meaning we may just get to watch players like Nemesis, Thebausffs or Rekkles stream their NLC games with Los Ratones.

Rekkles - The return of the King

Los Ratones' decision to participate in the NLC in the coming year will be particularly meaningful for one specific player on the roster. That is none other than ADC-star-turned-support, T1 Academy graduate, former Worlds finalist and perhaps greatest Swedish League of Legends player of all time, Rekkles.

The move to the NLC will mean more to Rekkles than a chance to put everything he learned in South Korea to the test; it will mean a return to home ground.

Now, with a bona fide Nordic superstar in their midst, the NLC could prove to be one of the most attractive Tier-2 leagues to watch in the coming year.
