The playoffs for Division I Winter Tour have officially concluded for all regions. Team Aster was the first team to secure the first ticket to Lima, followed by Team Liquid, followed by multiple teams from various regions ending with EHOME.

While some teams will be going to Lima, Peru, to represent their region and hopefully secure some points to receive the direct invite to The International, some will stay behind in Division I. Unfortunately, a couple of teams from all regions will also be going through relegation for the upcoming Spring Tour.

Details about the Major

The first Major for the DPC 2022-2023 season will be in Lima, Peru, and 4D Esports will host it in partnership with Epulze Gaming. It will feature a $ 500,000 USD prize pool.   Although the political situation in Peru is in a serious situation, the organizers of the tournament assured fans that they have a backup plan in place should the situation deteriorates quickly.

The Major consists of 18 teams from various regions. The group stages will start on February 22nd and through February 26th. Each group will feature 9 teams. The group stage will be played as a single-round robin, as all of the matches played in the group stage will be best of 2 (Bo2) it will be crucial for teams to win each match.

The top four teams from each group will be advancing to the upper brackets of the playoffs. The bottom three teams will get eliminated. The teams from 5th and 6th places from each group will be advancing to the lower brackets of the playoffs.

The playoffs will begin on February 28th and by March 5th the champion of the Lima Major will be crowned. The playoffs featured a double-elimination bracket and all matches played in the playoffs will be best of 3 (Bo3) except for the Grand Finals which will be played best of 5 (Bo5).

Favorites

Going into the Major some teams are considered favorites to win it all. Team Liquid is considered a favorite because they’re undefeated in their region and the team also consists of players playing on their best form along with Michał "Nisha" Jankowski.

Beastcoast along with the revamp Evil Geniuses are also considered favorites going into the Major as they will be playing in front of their home crowd. PSG.LGD have topped their region in the DPC Winter Tour. The organization can always be considered a favorite going into tournaments.
