Let the CSGO 2023 Season Begin: Blast Premier Spring Groups Preview

The first tournament of the CSGO 2023 Season will kick off along with the Blast Premier 2023 circuit. Starting in 2020, the successor of the Blast Pro circuit, Blast Premier, has already become an integral part of the CSGO competitive scene.

The Blast Premier 2022 concluded with the World Finals in December 2022. The finals were one of the most successful CSGO tournaments of the year. They also started the G2 redemption arc, which will continue with the Blast Premier Spring Finals.

The tournament will also be a good warm-up fobut r all the teams before the IEM Katowice 2023 starting on January 31st. The Blast Premier Spring Group will be a qualifying tournament for the Spring Finals.

Blast Premier Spring Groups Format:

A total of 12 partner teams will get a chance to qualify for the Spring finals at the Blast Premier Spring Groups. The tournament will feature three groups of four teams. Each group will play in a double-elimination BO3 bracket. The team winning the group qualifies as the top seed for the Blast Premier Spring Finals. The top seeds from each group will receive 2400 Blast Premier points and a $27k cash prize.

The bottom three teams will play in the play-in stage. Three teams will qualify from the play-in stage. The play-in stage will be a single-elimination bracket. Opening rounds will feature the third and fourth seeds from the groups playing in a single BO3 elimination match. The winners of the opening matches will take on the second seeds from the group. The winners of Round 2 will qualify with 1200 Blast Points.

The opening fixtures for each group are as follows:

  • Group A:
    • Heroic vs EG
    • Team Vitality vs Astralis
  • Group B:
    • Faze Clan vs Complexity
    • Team Liquid vs OG
  • Group C:
    • G2 vs BIG
    • Natus Vincere vs Ninjas in Pyjamas

The matches start tomorrow at 13:00 CET on LAN in Copenhagen. Blast will broadcast the games on Twitch and Youtube.

Storyline to follow at the event:

The tournament will also be important as Heroic will try to retain their #1 spot, and it will be essential to see how the tournament unfolds. Whoever wins and qualifies, the tournament will start the CSGO 2023 season with a Blast.
