LCS Kicks Off 2024 Spring Split: What to Expect from Day 1
The LCS is the North American professional League of Legends league. It currently consists of 8 teams that will play in an eight-team double round robin over 6 weeks. The LCS begins its Spring Regular Season on January 20th, and will run until March 10th. The top 6 teams will proceed to the Spring Playoffs where the top 4 teams are afforded double elimination. Spring Playoffs consists of best of five matches. The champion of the 2024 LCS Spring Playoffs and the runner-up will then proceed to MSI where they will represent NA and the LCS talent.

LCS Spring Regular Season 2024 Opening Matchups
Team Liquid vs 100 Thieves [3pm EST/12pm PST]

For the first match of the year in the LCS showcases a new top-side for Team Liquid and a complete overhaul for 100 Thieves. Joining the top-side of TL will be long-time player Impact and UmTi who most recently played for OK Brion. On the other side, 100T will see a revamp of new and old players synergizing together for the first time on stage. What kind of tone will be set as they play the first match of the year?
NRG vs Cloud9 [4pm EST/1pm PST]

Blast from the past with a matchup no viewer has seen since the finals of the 2023 Summer Playoffs. A few changes to keep in mind with veteran jojopyun and VULCAN joining Cloud9 for yet another strong roster. The previously reigning LCS champions that made major headway in Worlds 2023 returns with more hunger than ever. With huhi joining the fray, this match is bound to have non stop action.
FlyQuest vs Shopify Rebellion [5pm EST/2pm PST]

Let's all give a warm welcome to the new esports organization that has joined the LCS, Shopify Rebellion! Although it is a new organization, you are likely to see a few familiar faces in the team such as Insanity and Bugi. Under new management, we will see how this team will fare against the experienced whereas FlyQuest is bringing back a Worlds veteran in the top lane, Bwipo! Having a major reputation in EMEA and Worlds 2018 for his aggressiveness in lane and off-meta picks, we will see what new tech FlyQuest will bring to the table.
Immortals vs Dignitas [6pm EST/3pm PST]

Immortals comes back to the league shedding last years roster with an entirely new team. In Immortals we will see many familiar faces such as Olleh who is coming back after completing his mandatory Korea military service. Dignitas has seen a few changes and is welcoming a new mid laner to the region, Dove, who has previously played in the LCK and LPL. With a very experienced roster, will it be enough to fight off Immortals' completely new team?
