Gen.G continue to show their dominance over the LCK, finally completing the perfect run the team has been chasing after for years. In the build up to MSI 2025, Gen.G look like the team to beat after the squad went undefeated during Rounds 1-2 of the LCK 2025 Season.

The job's not over yet, though, as Gen.G will have to battle Hanwha Life Esports during the LCK's Road to MSI to decide who will become the first South Korean representatives at MSI.

Gen.G Make History

It appears someone forgot to tell Gen.G that they compete in one of the toughest – if not the toughest – leagues in the world. Despite the LCK being stacked with top-tier teams and star players, Gen.G just put up a ludicruous 18-0 run during the first half of the 2025 LCK Season.

Just as impressive is the fact that over the course of the 18 Bo3 series that the team played, Gen.G only dropped a total of 5 games (against T1, Dplus KIA, BNK FearX, Hanwha Life Esports, and KT Rolster).

Though the last team to go undefeated in the LCK was none other than T1 back in the Spring of 2022 – with the very same roster that would go on to lift back-to-back Worlds trophies (ZOFGK) – Gen.G have repeatedly stood just inches away from the feat themselves. In fact, just last year, Gen.G finished with a 17-1 record during both the 2024 Spring and 2024 Summer Regular Seasons in the LCK.

Now, with their latest win against BRO, Gen.G finally completed their long sought-after undefeated season.

Chovy Runs the LCK

We seem to be running out of words to describe Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon's level of dominance on the Rift, so perhaps we can just take a look at the numbers instead. Over the course of this first half of the 2025 LCK Season, Chovy finished first among all mid laners in the league for kills per game (4.2), KDA (7.33), CS per minute (9.58), gold per minute (450), and damage per minute (805.2).

The most impressive part, though, is the fact that the King of the Mid Lane actually had the highest damage numbers in the entire league, even finishing above his own star AD carry of Ruler.

It only makes sense, then, that Chovy also went on to finish the season with the most "Player of the Match" awards. As things currently stand, no one in the LCK can compete with Chovy's level of play. If the star mid laner and the rest of Gen.G manage to keep up their form, then there is no doubt they will head to MSI as the overwhelming favorites to come away with the trophy.

First, though, they will need to get past a star-studded Hanwha Life Esports before heading for the international stage. The clash of the titans is set to take place on Friday, June 13th, and will decide who the first LCK team at MSI 2025 will be.
