The player that continues to defy the passing of time has done it again, as Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok became the first player to reach 1000 games in the LCK. The historic milestone came off the back of a near-flawless win in Game 1 by T1 against KT Rolster in the LCK 2025 Season, granting Faker yet another entry into the League of Legends history books.

An ideal game for an ideal milestone

T1's announcement that back-to-back World Champion Gumayusi would be stepping down in favor of Smash for the match after months of controversy for the team was not enough to spoil the fun for Faker's historic achievement. When T1 stepped onto the rift to take on KT Rolster in yet another battle in the Telecom wars, the team looked locked in and ready to celebrate in style.

After just 24 minutes of play and a 23-3 scoreline in favor of T1, Faker and the rest of the squad disposed of KT Rolster in emphatic fashion, making sure his 1000th LCK game came as it only ever could: with a win.

Ultimately, T1 were able to claim a straightforward 2-0 win in the series to move up to a fourth place in the standings. Celebrations will need to be quick, however, as T1 get ready to continue their journey in this incredibly competitive LCK 2025 Season when they take on the reigning LCK Champions of Hanwha Life Esports on Saturday, April 12th.

Faker: Staying ahead of the competition

In the 13 years since his debut, the five-time World Champion has met no match in the LCK, at least not as far as longevity goes. With 1000 LCK games under his belt and counting, Faker became the first player to ever reach this staggering sum in the South Korean league, demonstrating both his ability to remain at the top through the passage of time, as well as his commitment to his home-league.

As things stand, Faker finds himself clear of the competition atop the list of players with the most LCK games. For reference, the second player on the list is Deft, who is currently retired from competitive League of Legends while he completes his mandatory military service.

With an overwhelming amount of history between the two players, Deft remains more than 160 games behind Faker in terms of LCK games played, with the gap continuing to grow by the week.

If Faker has long been synonymous with T1, then now too does his name begin to ring awfully close to the sound of the LCK.
