VCT EMEA Week 4 Match Results

Team Heretics vs Team Liquid [0-2]

Strong showing from Liquid as they continue to ramp up in the VCT EMEA arena. Initially off to a slow start in the season, they set a blistering pace on their map pick of Split now, with a swift 10-2 half that sent Heretics spiraling early in the series. Heretics managed to answer back with a pistol win but lost the third round. Despite a small comeback from Heretics, Liquid managed to close out Split 13-8.

Heretics took the series then to Fracture, proving a far harder challenge on their own map pick. The first half ended 5-7 for Heretics, thanks in large part to the heroics of “Boo”. Swapping over to the defense, “zeek” and “Avova” ramped up as well, forcing overtime. The back-and-forth continued in overtime, with Liquid finally bringing it home in quadruple overtime 17-15.

FUT Esports vs Giants Gaming [0-2]

Giants Gaming took a convincing win off FUT to continue their winstreak. The series began on Icebox, where Giants displayed a mastery and comfort on the map that they previously did not have. Off to a quick 10-2 half, Giants dispatched the Turkish squad on their own map pick in 13-5 fashion.

Split was a continuation of Giants’ momentum, seizing the first six rounds. Their run was then cut short as FUT began gaining rounds here and there. The first half ended 8-4 in favor of Giants. After taking the pistol, Giants lost the third round and from there, FUT pulled the score back with 7 of the next 9 rounds that pulled them even with Giants. Sadly, the comeback could not be completed as Giants took Split 13-11 to close out the series.

Karmine Corp vs Natus Vincere [0-2]

A surprisingly close game for Karmine despite recent roster issues saw their assistant coach sub in for recently departed “Newzera”. Karmine first faced NA’VI on the latter’s map pick of Ascent, where “Nivera” battled hard with a strong performance on the carry Omen. The first half ended evenly, with the score 6-6.

NA’VI answered back with a strong pistol and third round win that soared them ahead. Karmine’s late half answer brought them to 11, but it was too late, with NA’VI taking the final point to win Ascent 13-11.

Karmine’s confidence was still high as they took the series to Lotus, starting off with a solid 7-5 half that included a pistol round win. It was once the side swap come through, that Karmine momentum seemed to come to a halt. NA’VI came in swinging and powered a straight eight round half to win Lotus 13-7 without allowing Karmine another round win.

BBL Esports vs Team Vitality [2-0]

A closely contested series goes an unexpected direction when Vitality fell to BBL. “QutionerX” was most definitely the key piece for BBL in the series, shattering Vitality time and again with a monstrous series performance. Ascent initially began well, with Vitality managing to string together a respectable 7-5 lead going into the second half. However, things quickly changed once BBL settled into the defense, shutting down Vitality with an incredible 8-1 second half that closed out Ascent 13-8.

Looking to slam back, Vitality took the series to Haven then, but BBL opened with a massive 9-3 half. Furthermore, “QutionerX” was having a monstrous 21/7 game just on defense alone, with 5 opening kills. Shifting over to Attack, BBL noticeably slowed down, allowing Vitality to score 6 rounds. But yet, BBL managed to close out Haven 13-9, finally putting an end to Vitality’s run of terror.
