The VALORANT Champions 2024 Finals Weekend kicked off with ‘The Final Boss’ Aspas and Leviatan taking on China’s Superstar ZmjjKk and EDward Gaming for a spot in the Grand Finals.

The game that went the distance featured many unforgettable moments, with both teams going blow for blow until the final round of map 3.

EDward Gaming 2-1 Leviatan

Coming into the tournament, Leviatan and Aspas were the contenders to win it all, whereas EDward Gaming, despite their international success, were not. But as the tournament progressed, EDward Gaming looked much cleaner and proved why they are the China #1 seed.

The series featuring the two #1 seeds kicked off on Icebox, with Leviatan securing an early lead to close the half 9-3. EDward Gaming answered back with strength, forcing overtime. After three rounds of OT concluded, LEV came out on top, going 1-0 up in the series.

EDward Gaming dominated Lotus, penetrating through Leviatan’s defense to secure an 8-4 lead and converting it to a strong 13-4 win to force a third map.

The final map was close. The teams went blow for blow, tying the first half. Leviatan secured an early lead in the second half to secure 11, but EDward Gaming clawed back to win the map 13-11.

With the map win, EDward Gaming secured the VALORANT Champions 2024 Grand Finals. A historic feat for them and their region. The win also strengthens VCT CN's position on the International stage.

Talking about the win and the historic achievement, ZmjjKk said:

“At the time we won, I felt like I was dreaming. But the fact is we are in the Grand Finals and we are worth it”

Leviatan is now in the Lower Finals, they will face the winner of the Sentinels-Team Heretics. Catch the action live on Twitch and YouTube. You can also watch the tournament on VALORANT Esports Website. You can also follow the games on Strafe.
