Complexity’s run on home soil was cut short at IEM Dallas, following back-to-back losses.

Although the team came into the event with high spirits after reaching the Semi-Finals at ESL Pro League Season 19, they later fell to Team Liquid and eventually MOUZ in the lower bracket.

In their opening BO1 against Liquid, they looked frail. Casper "cadiaN" Møller’s men came prepared and struck early on their T side with the score reaching 8-1, before Complexity closed the gap with three consecutive rounds ending the half at 8-4.

Since its reintroduction to the Active-Duty map pool, Dust 2 slightly favored the terrorists. But unfortunately, not Complexity, as they only won two rounds in the second half.

With a shy showing from the majority of players, especially for Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli, their demise was certain, having to face MOUZ in the lower bracket.

Better from Complexity, but not enough

However, their series against MOUZ told a different story. In fact, Hallzerk and his team were resilient on Vertigo and managed to keep their 100% win rate on the map.

The Norwegian AWPer showed his prowess after taking a six-round lead, almost trapping the mouse early. Except, Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek’s squad is the best team for a reason. With a collective effort from Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin and Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás, they flipped the table with five rounds of their own, ending the half at 7-5.

Moreover, it was a tug of war between them with each team securing three consecutive rounds of their own. Unfortunately, Complexity blew three map points and instead went to overtime.

At this point, it was anyone’s game. Yet, after trading rounds, the North Americans eventually came out on top.

Ancient, carried a similar scenario to Vertigo. And the stars of the show were "Brollan" and Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo this time. Their strong impact on the T side netted them a head start and reached double digits first. However, Complexity struck back with six rounds of their own.

Opposite to Complexity, MOUZ didn’t choke their lead and closed the map at 13-11, denying another overtime.

Unfortunately, Johnny "JT" Theodosiou’s men vanished into thin air on the decider map, Nuke.

With barely any resistance on their CT side, MOUZ ran with the first half at 10-2. At that time, attempting a comeback was like climbing Mount Everest for Complexity. Consequently, they were eliminated on the first day, leaving more question marks on the lineup’s future.

It’s safe to say that Complexity was unlucky in a way. After all, no one expected 9z Team to beat MOUZ in the opening match. Which gave the North Americans a tougher task in avoiding elimination.

As a result, changes are expected within the roster. Mainly pointing to Hallzerk, as his future with the team seems to be already decided according to their General Manager, an update which Strafe will report later on, see stay tuned.
