Cloud9 has finalized their roster for their participation in the upcoming 2025 LTA Season. After saying goodbye to Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol and Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun, Cloud9 have been quick to make moves in the current off-season.

According to a report from Sheep Esports' Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger, Cloud9 will be rounding out their roster with the additions of the young South Korean mid laner Lee "Loki" Sang-min and former C9 AD carry and support Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen in the ADC role. Meanwhile, the remainder of the Cloud9 roster will remain the same.

One of the most historic teams in North American League of Legends, Cloud9 had a rough year in 2024 after failing to qualify for Worlds. Now, with the additions of Loki and Zven, Cloud9 will hope the new faces help return the team to its former glory.

An old fan favorite

In Zven, the team will be getting a tried and true veteran of the game who has shown he has the mindset to succeed in more than one role.

Zven spent four years with Cloud9 in the past, having joined in the end of 2019 before departing after the end of the 2023 season. After more than two years as the team's AD carry, Zven made the choice to roleswap to support in 2022.

During his tenure with Cloud9, Zven helped the team secure four LCS titles - two as ADC, and two as support.

And yet, it wasn't just his willingness to play different roles that showcased Zven's adaptability. After winning the 2021 LCS Spring Season, Zven became the first player ever to win an LCS and an LEC title.

With unmatched experience under his belt, Zven might just be the kind of leader Cloud9 lacked for most 2024.

Cloud9 land a diamond in the rough

Meanwhile, Cloud9's new mid laner, Loki, is a widely different case. Born and bred in the LCK Challengers, Loki has spent all of his short career with the Hanwha Life Esports Challengers team.

During the 2024 LCK CL Summer Season, Loki's champion pool was in full display, having played a total of 11 different champions. His Taliyah, in particular, stood above all other picks, with the young mid laner going 8-0 on the champion for the season.

In contrast to Zven, Loki may come into Cloud9 and inject some much needed youth and unpredictability into the squad. The move is certainly a gamble, but Cloud9 know they have nothing to lose.

Whatever Cloud9 may feel they have lost in star power with the departures of Jojopyun and Berserker, they will hope to have regained through synergy and a more cohesive-looking squad.

Cloud9's roster for the 2025 LTA Season:

  • Top: Park "Thanatos" Seung-gyu
  • Jungle: Robert "Blaber" Huang
  • Mid: Lee "Loki" Sang-min
  • ADC: Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen
  • Support: Philippe "Vulcan" Laflamme
