GamerLegion officially confirmed the acquisition of  Erik "ztr" Gustafsson from Metizport to take on the role of in-game leader, following Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's departure to G2.

In December, “ztr” joined Metizport and assumed leadership responsibilities from Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson. With “ztr” leading the pack, the Swedish team began participating in numerous international tournaments. Reaching the semi-finals of the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown is their success highlight after notable victories against Falcons and Monte.

Despite that, the team benched the Swedish in-game leader in May in an attempt to bring a fresh face to the lineup.

In a recent post on X, Morten "zEVES" Vollan, Head of Esports Operations at Metizport, addressed the team's progress under “ztr”. Highlighting a need for stronger structure and depth in their playbook to achieve consistency.

"We are now shifting direction to become a more consistent top team," he stated.

"I understand this move might seem odd from an outside perspective. However, it's important to note that we always act in the best interest of our project and vision. Returning a full Swedish roster to the top, where it belongs!"

Recently, GamerLegion attempted a roster revamp with the addition of Henrich "sl3nd" Hevesi and the promotion of Andreas "aNdu" Maasing to the main roster. The revamped squad is poised to make their debut in less than a month at BLAST Premier Fall Groups, beginning on July 29th.
