Ninjas in Pyjamas have had a rough couple of years, and the recent elimination from the RMRs was a big shock to the team’s fans.

Since their elimination, Ninjas are on a path to rebuild and as a first move have welcomed back Richard “Xizt” Landstrom as the new Coach for the team.

The legacy of Ninjas in Pyjamas and Xizt

NiP and Xizt’s started when the latter joined the organization as a part of their CSGO roster back in 2012. Serving as the IGL, they went on to set a record of 87-0 map win record that will likely stay for a long time.

The collaboration also won a Major together in 2014 and a runner-up position in the following major. Together the squad was one of the best teams in the starting days of CSGO.

Xizt played with the team until 2018, when he was benched.

He later joined Fnatic and then Dignitas as a player before transitioning to coaching for Heroic.

As a coach, Xizt helped Heroic become the top team in 2022-23. He parted ways with them in December, 2023.

Now, he has returned to NiP as the team’s coach, aiding his former home with rebuilding.

The organization entered a rebuilding phase for their Counter-Strike division after their unsuccessful run at the recent events. The squad even failed to qualify for the Majors despite their immense talent.

With Xizt joining as the coach, they will start looking for pieces to build and bolster the CS roster.
