After a subpar international performance, KT Rolster had announced the departure of their entire roster barring Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong. With the announcement, the team officially entered a rebuilding phase. Today, KT announced the addition of Kim "Deft" Hyeok-gyu and Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyeon.

With Deft and Pyosik, the KT Rolster squad for LCK 2024 will be:

  • Top: ?
  • Jungler: Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyeon
  • Mid: Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong
  • ADC: Kim "Deft" Hyeok-kyu
  • Support: ?

The Worlds 2022 Champions will re-unite under the KT Rolster banner and try to recreate the same Worlds 2022 winning magic. This will be Deft’s second coming in the KT fold. Deft previously played for the organization for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

KT Rolster also won their first LCK title with Deft in their fold. Since the legendary ADC’s departure, KT hasn’t won a LCK Spring or Summer title. In the last season, KT were amongst the top LCK teams.

They finished the Spring Split regular season with a 13-5 record, but they missed on MSI qualification after losing to GenG in the playoffs, placing third behind GenG and T1.

KT Rolster dominated the LCK Summer Split with a 17-1 record but faltered in the playoffs placing third once again. Fortunately they qualified for the Worlds 2023 after winning the LCK Regional Finals 2023.

At the Worlds 2023, KT Rolster defeated Weibo Gaming and Dplus KIA to qualify for the playoffs. At the playoffs, LPL’s JD Gaming eliminated KT in four games. Following their exit, KT announced the departure of most of their roster along with Coach Rapidstar

With two former World Champions in the mix already, it’d be interesting to see who the KT management and coaching staff brings in to make a championship run.
