Paper Rex, DRX, Talon and Gen.G qualify for VALORANT Champions 2024
After the conclusion of today's VCT Pacific Playoffs Knockout Round, the four teams have solidified their position at VALORANT Champions.
Four teams from each VCT regional league are chosen to represent their region at VALORANT Champions 2024 based on two criteria: a top 3 finish in their respective regional leagues and overall Championship points accumulated throughout the season.
Paper Rex
Paper Rex was the first team to qualify for Champions based solely on their Championship points, ensuring their spot in Seoul regardless of their playoff performance.
Gen.G Esports
Following today's win against Rex Regum Qeon, Gen.G now stands at the top of the Championship points standings in the Pacific region, securing their place at Champions.
DRX
DRX, third in the Championship standings, also secured a Champions slot since no other team could surpass their points total. This was only possible because of Gen.G's victory against RRQ. Without it, the 4th place spot would've gone to Gen.G.
Talon Esports
Finally, Talon Esports managed to qualify by narrowly defeating Team Secret. Both teams ended with seven points, but Talon advanced due to a superior head-to-head record. With this victory, Talon, like DRX, is in a secure position where their spot in Seoul is guaranteed regardless of their final playoff standing.
VALORANT Champions 2024 is set to begin on August 1st. The initial matches will take place in Seoul before moving to Incheon for the Top 4.
With the Pacific region’s representatives now confirmed, the focus shifts to the remaining regions, where teams are battling for the limited spots available at the year's most prestigious VALORANT event. The VCT Pacific teams will look to leverage the home advantage and make a significant impact at the tournament, showcasing the depth and talent of the region.
