VCL Brazil Regular season Split 1 to kick off today
The Regular season of the first split of Valorant Challengers League Brazil will kick off today at 05:00 PM BRT. The VCL will feature Brazil teams and have open qualifiers starting November 26. After three stages of the Open qualifier, four teams qualified for the Regular season. Also, four teams were invited to make eight that'd play the regular season of VCL Brazil starting today.
VCL Brazil format and schedule:
The VCL Brazil season will be split in two. Four teams playing in the challengers league were invited, and Four qualified through open qualifiers. The Open and Closed Qualifiers followed a double elimination bracket and featured two open and single closed qualifiers.
The eight participating teams will take on each other in a Single BO3 Round Robin format to garner wins. Six teams will qualify for the playoffs and play in the prize pool. The playoffs will be a double-elimination bracket featuring six teams. The top two teams will get a bye in the opening round. The teams will be playing to garner enough points to qualify for the Ascension league towards the end of the year. Two teams from each challengers league in the Americas will qualify for the Ascension league and get a chance to battle for the coveted VCT Americas spot.
The schedule for the first split of VCL Brazil will be as follows:
- Regular Season: January 17 - March 8
- Two BO3s every Wednesday and Thursday starting at 05:00 PM BRT
- The Regular Season will feature a total of 28 matches.
- Playoffs: March 13 - March 8
- Double-elimination bracket BO3s
- Lower Finals, Upper Finals, and Grand Finals will be BO5
Participating teams and their Journeys:
- 00Nation: One of the biggest names in Brazilian Esports, 00 Nation received a direct invition for the regular season. The organization recently signed a roster with ex-Leviathan's Adverso.
- Keyd Stars: Another big organization in Brazil, Vivi Keyd or Keyd Stars, received direct invitation to the Regular season.
- TBK Esports: TBK Esports has been active in VCT Brazil and Brazilian Valorant Scene for a while and received a direct invitation to the regular season.
- Liberty: Liberty is another long-standing Brazilian team active in Brazilian Valorant. They received a direct invitation for the Regular season.
- ODDIK: OODIK has been part of the VCT Brazil for a while, but they fought through the open qualifiers. Starting in Open Qualifier #1, ODDIK dominated to qualify for the Closed Qualifiers. They breezed through the Closed Qualifiers to become the first qualifying team.
- The Union: Starting in the Open Qualifier #2, The Union 2-0'd all the competition to reach the Closed Qualifiers. The Union dominated the opponent in the first and second rounds. They outplayed their opponents 3-2 to qualify for the VCL Brazil Regular season.
- Red Canids: Acadêmicos do Tucuruvi started in the Open qualifiers and dominated the competition to reach the Closed Qualifiers. In the closed qualifiers, they lost to Tropicaos and fought through the Lower bracket to qualify for the tournament. Red Canids later picked the roster.
- TropiCaos: TropiCaos lost in the first Open Qualifiers but returned in Open Qualifier #2. In the second Open qualifier, they dominated their bracket to reach the closed qualifier. They started strong but were sent to the lower bracket after a loss to The Union. They defeated 100 Jobs to clinch the final spot of the VCL Brazil.
Valorant will broadcast the matches every day on the Valorant_Br twitch channel.
