The last week of Valorant was one of the most eventful weeks in a while. Starting with the release of Agent 21 Harbor to the introduction of the new Cloud9 roster.

Valorant Game Updates:

With almost no new agents coming to Valorant since the last two acts, Episode V Act 3 was the act for the agent release. Harbor, the 21st Agent, codenamed Mage, was being teased for a while. With the release of Act 3, Harbor was introduced in the game. With his unique kit and abilities, Harbor has the Valorant community split if he is good or not.

We will do a short run-through of Harbor in a while, so stay tuned for the Harbor review from Strafe.

Riot also updated the Game UI to make it sleeker. Additionally, Riot addressed multiple bugs with the 5.08 patch and limited the Immortal Leaderboard. The patch also introduced the Ion 2.0 Collection with Vandal, Spectre, Frenzy, Ares, a Karambit knife, and a new battle pass.

 

Roster Moves:

With the roster soft lock period over, The first significant rostermania in Valorant saw the final few roster confirmations, with more coming this week. Still, there were undoubtedly few highlights over the week.

  • Global Esports announces their VCT 2023 roster.
  • Bleed Esports sign sScary for VCT pacific Ascension.
  • Sentinels announced their new IGL dephh, letting go of ShahZam.
  • Scream and Nivera joining Karmine corps, unconfirmed rumours of Enzo joining them.
  • Fnatic introduces LEO as the new Squad member ahead of Superdome, Egypt.
  • Ethan is in talks with EG as the flex.
  • NRG esports to sign Thwifo as the sixth man to the roster.

  • G2 Esports let go of the Valorant roster. They Will field an NA team for the Ascension league.
  • Marved and 100 Thieves Coach SeanGares both step down from Competitive Valorant.
  • DRX announce their sixth member Foxy9
  • GenG announced their VCT'23 roster.
  • Paper Rex announced CigaretteS as the sixth man.
  • T1 signs Sayaplayer and BeomJun for VCT 2023 Season.
  • KRU esports announce the 2023 Valorant roster with XAND and Melser.
  • Leviathan adds NRZ, Mazino and Keznit to the roster.
  • Furia sign MWzera to their roster.
  • Detonation Gaming announced their VCT'23 roster with Seoldam.
  • Zeta Division Valorant adds Barce as the final member of the VCT'23 Squad.

 

Tournaments:

We saw the debut of Harbor in professional Valorant when Scream, Nivera and team Belgium crushed the competition to win the Spike Nations last Sunday. DRX with foxy9 defeated Team Secret at Daejeon Valorant Invitational. The Superdome tournament in Egypt Concluded with Fnatic winning the tournament with the new addition LEO to the roster, defeating Acend.

Cloud9 White once again asserted their dominance, winning the VCT NA GC series without letting the opposition reach a double-digit round score. Fennel GC take down Spear gaming to qualify at VCT GC East Asia Qualifiers. Team Liquid Brazil won the VCT GC Brazil again, and KRU FEM defeated FiRePOWER in the VCT GC LATAM regional finals.

With this, we have all eight playing teams for the Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers Championship Brazil.
