Learning a new agent has been a tough task in Valorant for a long time. There are modes like Swiftplay and Unrated, but the round objective gets a higher priority. Moreover, the two-minute time limit is nowhere near enough to get ample practice with abilities. Riot, listening to the casuals' cries, introduced a new game mode called Team Deathmatch. The fast-paced ability-enabled 5v5 deathmatch is a perfect training ground for players to practice abilities. Let's dive into the mode and understand what the new mode will offer.

Team Deathmatch - An Overview:

The new mode will be a 5v5 team v team deathmatch with agent abilities. The game would be a race to 100 kills with four stages comprising multiple weapons. The total duration of the match will be 9m30s. The game ends when a team gets 100 kills, or the timer ends.

The four stages will have weapons of different "lethality." The first stage is sidearms which will be available throughout the game. For the second game, you can choose between Stinger + Full Shields, Ares + Half Shields or Sheriff + Full Shields. The third stage will choose between Ares + Full Shield, Spectre + Full Shield, Bulldog + Full Shield, and Guardian + Half Shields. The final stage has Vandal or Phantom as a choice. Players can also pick up Stinger, Bucky, Operator and Odin via the weapon orbs around the map.

Additionally, health orbs and ultimate orbs around the map serve the purpose. The abilities recharge throughout the game. Once you die, you respawn in a safe spawn. You'd be invulnerable to damage and utilities for 15 seconds. You can't stay inside the spawn as staying in spawn for too long leads to damage. You respawn in 1.5s after your death.

Maps:

Instead of using the pre-existing maps, Riot has designed three unique maps for Team Deathmatch. These maps are designed for maximum confrontation while helping you practice multiple angles. These maps look similar as they are slightly based on the pre-existing maps. The current three maps of Team Deathmatch are Piazza, Kasbah and District. Piazza is a relatively open map with overlooking angles. Kasbah is mid-confrontation, and the District simulates the long and short maps.

Why is Team Deathmatch a great addition?

Unlike deathmatch, playing TDM will help your progress towards the new dailies and weekly missions. Players will get a total of 1000 XP playing the TDM. While this is already good news for players who don't have much time to play, TDM is a complete practice. Players can practice their abilities and shoot without thinking about the economy, round objective or anything else. Moreover, it counts towards dailies giving you an added incentive for playing the mode.

With the addition of Team Deathmatch, Valorant now has modes to practice multiple guns in Escalation, pure mechanics in deathmatch and abilities + mechanics in Team Deathmatch. Along with the new mode and progression system, A new agent is also coming to Valorant with Episode VII. Valorant Episode VII will be great fun, with so much stuff coming soon.
