After much anticipation, VALORANT Patch 10.09 has now arrived, bringing down the hammer on Tejo in the process. Along with the latest agent, Breach is also receiving nerfs, while improvements are being introduced to Swiftplay and the gifting system as well.

Let's go ahead and take a closer look at what the latest VALORANT patch has in store for us.

Agent Updates

Tejo

The Colombian agent has taken over pro play since it came out in January of this year. For that reason, Patch 10.09 will be largely centered around finally bringing Tejo to a more balanced state. Here's the list of Tejo nerfs coming with the patch:

  • Guided Salvo
    • Cooldown removed: no longer recharges
    • Cost: 150 credits
    • One free charge granted on round start
    • Each rocket consumes one charge
    • Map Targeting Range decreased from 55m to 45m
  • Stealth Drone
    • Cost increased: 300 >>> 400 credits
  • Special Delivery
    • Cost decreased: 300 >>> 200 credits
  • Armageddon
    • Ult points required increased: 8 >>> 9

Breach

Though Breach has not been as problematic of an initiator as Tejo, he's receiving a small nerf to allow for more counterplay.

  • Fault Line
    • Time until Fault Line detonates after its cast increased: 1 second >>> 1.2 seconds

General Updates

  • Gifting
    • Limit of gifts per day increased: 5 >>> 10

This bump in the number of gifts you can send per day will arrive to VALORANT at the same time as the Give Back bundle hits the store on Thursday, May 15th. This means that every gift from this bundle is also a gift to charity!

Swiftplay Updates

It can sometimes be difficult to get enough points in your ultimate to use the ability before the half is over in Swiftplay. For this reason, some ultimate starting point numbers have been bumped a touch.

  • Breach
    • Rolling Thunder starting points increased: 2 >>> 3
  • Killjoy
    • Lockdown starting points increased: 2 >>> 3
  • Viper
    • Viper's Pit starting points increased: 2 >>> 3

Bug Fixes

  • In Patch 10.08, Riot Games fixed a visual bug that was found in the Bolt skinline that caused the skins to glow brighter than intended after equipping and inspecting the Bolt Flex.
    • After conducting extensive photosensitivity testing, Riot concluded that this bug poses no substantial risk for photosensitive players, so the bug fix has been reverted and left as an Easter egg.
  • Fixed a bug where Kill Banners for certain skins (Oni, Evori Dreamwings, EX.O, Prelude to Chaos, Mystbloom, and more) were appearing smaller than normal after the first kill.

Head out there and enjoy some games without Tejo on the server with the arrival of VALORANT Patch 10.09! You can take a complete look at the patch notes here.
