The first International VALORANT event of the year is coming to an end. Tomorrow, G2 Esports will take on T1 for the Masters Bangkok title. The Grand Finals ceremony will feature a showmatch showcasing the latest VALORANT duelist.

Let's look at what the day has in store for us.

VALORANT Masters Bangkok Grand Finals Showmatch feat. TenZ and JohnQT

The Grand Finals ceremony that will precede the clash between G2 Esports and T1 will feature Team Thailand taking on Team International.

Team Thailand, representing the hosts, will feature some of the biggest VALORANT names in Thailand, including Cgrs, the former Paper Rex player, along with Talon superstar Primmie. They will take on Team International featuring TenZ, JohnQT, and more. The two teams will showcase the latest duelist in a bo1 match.

Road to the Grand Finals

The two teams that have made their way to the Grand Finals have each lost a series in the early stage of competition but managed to stabilize, making it to the Playoffs and exacting revenge on the teams that defeated them.

History in the Making: G2 Esports

The first team in the Grand finals, G2 Esports, are the Americas’ #1 seed. After adding EG’s jawgemo to their squad, their performance went up a level. Their Americas kickoff run made them look like one of the most stable and strongest VALORANT squads in the world.

At Masters Bangkok, G2 Esports started strong, but lost to EDward Gaming in 1-0 bracket, going down a game but defeated Team Liquid 2-0 to qualify for the Playoffs.

Their playoff run was much more dominant. They defeated Team Vitality, arguably the strongest team coming to Bangkok, in a dominant 2-0 match. They followed it up with a 2-0 win over EDward Gaming, the team that defeated them in the Swiss stage. With the two wins, G2 secured a Grand Finals spot.

If G2 Esports manage to secure the win tomorrow, they will be the first ascension team to win a Masters trophy.

Old faces, New Banner: T1

The second team, T1 features some of the most recognizable faces in South Korean VALORANT. The team features Stax at the helm controlling a squad featuring BuZz, iZu, Sylvan and Meteor.

The team did take a little time to stabilize and finished behind DRX at the VCT Pacific Kickoff. Coming into the tournament, T1 weren’t the team many expected to reach the finals. In fact, T1 even lost their opening Swiss game.

The team bounced back, defeating Trace Esports and then taking down the VCT Pacific Champion DRX. The win secured their spot in the playoffs. T1 lost a close series to EDward Gaming in the playoffs, but bounced back winning over Team Vitality to secure a rematch against EDward Gaming and the Lower Bracket finals.

The bo5 series started with T1 dominating ZmjKk and co., completely demolishing them on the first two maps. EDG did take a map off of their opponents, but the domination continued as T1 closed out the series 3-1 after a 13-5 win on Split.

The game tomorrow will be Stax and BuZz’s opportunity to prove to the World and DRX that they have what it takes to win an International trophy.

VALORANT Masters Bangkok Grand Finals: G2 Esports vs. T1 Preview and Predictions

The two playing teams have brought their A game to the playing field. G2 Esports has the stability to win games despite not having their stars perform. Despite the strong individuals, G2 Esports is a VALORANT team that thrives on the squad’s synergy; their biggest strength.

On the other hand, T1 thrives off their stars; be it Meteor, BuZz, iZu, Sylvan or Stax. While there is synergy, the team wins by letting their stars shine.

Going into the game, G2 Esports will get a veto advantage. With there being no perma-ban for them, they can simply ban maps they don’t want to deal with. The vetoes paired with the off-day will turn out to be a massive advantage for them.

Tomorrow, in a battle of opposing ideas, G2 Esports will battle the combined might of T1’s brilliant individualism. Given the current form of the two teams, the maps ought to be extremely close.

G2 have an edge in the competition not only because of the advantage of coming from the Upper bracket but also their ability to win games without depending on the individual performance. At least in the current tournament, G2 seems like a more complete team than T1, making them our favorites to win the whole thing.

Where to watch?
