ESL One Bangkok 2024 is set to begin soon. As the first LAN tournament of ESL Pro Tour Season 3, it brings together twelve teams competing fiercely for EPT points and a share of the million-dollar prize pool. Among the participating teams, several stand out as Favourites, thanks to their impressive recent performances. Let’s take a closer look at the top contenders for ESL One Bangkok 2024.

Team Falcons

Team Falcons made their debut in the professional Dota 2 scene last season. Since then, they have established themselves as one of the dominant teams to beat in the scene, securing multiple trophies across various tournaments.

The team's unique roster is a perfect match for their dynamic play style. Last season, they were among the most dominant forces in the scene, though a few teams managed to outplay them on occasion.

This season, Team Falcons have continued to assert their dominance. While some opponents have adapted to their strategies, the Falcons have maintained their dominant form. As a result, they are the leading favourites to win ESL One Bangkok 2024.

Team Liquid

For the longest time, Team Liquid found themselves in the runner-up spot. Everything changed for them at Elite League Season 2 as they successfully overcame their runner-up spot troubles and took home the trophy.  That breakthrough victory became the springboard for their eventual TI triumph.

Following their success at TI, the team underwent a roster shuffle, bringing in Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek as their new offlaner. Although SabeRLight- had previously played with the team, they need some time to rediscover and refine their strengths.

In some matches, Team Liquid showcased their signature dominance, while in others, they struggled to find their footing. Despite these inconsistencies, the revamped roster secured another trophy at the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall.

Since their TI victory, Team Liquid's overall performances have been somewhat underwhelming. Nevertheless, as reigning TI champions, they head into ESL One Bangkok 2024 as one of the favourites to win.

This tournament could also be the stage where Team Liquid fully redefines its identity and reclaims its peak form.

BetBoom Team

BetBoom Team has a history of falling short at the most unexpected moments. Last season, they secured several top-five finishes in nearly every tournament they participated in.

However, when it came to grand finals, they struggled to claim the much-coveted championship title. This season marked a turning point for the team as they underwent a roster shuffle, bringing back their former safelaner, Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko. While on loan to Tundra Esports, Pure played a key role in helping the team secure a podium finish at The International 2024.

With Pure back in the lineup, BetBoom Team needed time to adjust their playstyle. Despite stumbling a few times following the roster shuffle, they finally overcame their inconsistency at BLAST Slam I, where they claimed their first championship title.

This season, BetBoom Team has proven they have the potential to be one of the dominant forces in the Dota 2 scene. As they head into ESL One Bangkok 2024, the question remains: will they build on the momentum of their BLAST Slam I victory, or will they falter under pressure?
