The 2022-2023 DPC season showcases the rise of the new blood in Dota 2. However, with the rise of the new blood comes the downfall of the titans. Being one of the titans, Team Secret is one of the victims of the 2022-2023 DPC season. Team Secret struggled in the 2022-2023 DPC season, despite having a fantastic run at The International 2022, finishing second.

Going into the 2022-2023 DPC season, the team lost one of the best midlaners, Nisha. Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan joined the team to fill in Nisha’s shoes, but after the end of the Summer Tour, Team Secret and Boom parted ways. Shortly after announcing the departure of Boom, Secret trolled everyone by announcing Lionel Messi, the world's reowned footballer is joining the team in Boom's steed.

Different Positions, Same Results

Boom originally joined Team Secret as their new midlaner. His Team Secret debut didn't went well. The team become prone to disappointing results and got relegated for the upcoming Spring Tour. Heading to the Spring Tour, the team went through serious roster changes. They parted ways with two of their players and brought in new talent from the EU and a rising talent from SEA. Boom also switched his roles from midlane to offlane.

In Spring Tour, Team Secret dominated Division II and got promoted back to Division I.  However they got annihilated back at Division I in the Summer Tour. They lost their debut series against Team Liquid and only won against D1 Hustlers, a team that got promoted along with them from Division II. After the Summer Tour ended, with a score of one win and six losses, Secret was once again relegated to Division II.

Can History repeat itself?

However, it is crucial to note that Secret played a similar type of melody before. Back in the DPC 2021-2022 Season, they struggled before Ti and went through a roster change going into Ti11. When Ti came, Secret tore down everyone in their path in the qualifiers and closed qualifiers, earning the seat at the Ti. At The International, Team Secret went to the grand finals. However, they fell short against Tundra Esports, placing in the runner-up spot.

Boom’s Future

Even though Boom’s time at Secret was tough, it’s important to note he is one of the former members of Team Tickles (current Gaimin Gladiators). Team Tickles was one of the strongest teams during its debut year in WEU. The team secured 9th to 12th place finish at their debut Ti. Moreover, playing offlane in  Secret, Boom also showcased his versatile hero pool.
