After LOUD took down Evil Geniuses in the first semifinals of VCT Americas Kickoff, Sentinels took down the Americas superteam in NRG to secure the second Masters Madrid spot.

The three-map fiesta concluded with Sentinels closing out the series with a dominant performance on Split.

The Off-season Legends

The two North American teams that took the off-season by storm were Sentinels and NRG Esports.

The first, played multiple tournaments and worked hard and made all the tough decisions in order to become one of the top teams in the Americas.

The second assembled some of the biggest names, former World Champions and 2023 Valorant Champions, creating a North American superteam.

Their journey to the semifinals were two completely distinct paths. NRG secured the playoffs, dominating their group. SEN, on the other hand, qualified via the play-ins, took down 100 Thieves, Leviatan, G2 Esports and MIBR to secure a seat on the table.

The former were also slightly favored to win. But Sentinels had a different plan.

VCT Americas Kickoff Semifinals - NRG Esports vs Sentinels

On the first map, Sentinels secured overtime after coming back from a 11-8 deficit. They closed the map 16-14.

NRG secured a strong 8-4 lead on Ascent and closed it out 13-8 to force a third map. SEN dominated Split, winning impossible rounds to secure a 11-1 lead and closed it out 13-3 to win the series 2-1.

With the win, Sentinels secured the second VCT Masters Madrid spot from the Americas. TenZ and Co. qualified for an International stage after 932 days. The qualification is a redemption for TenZ and Zellsis who were doubted in 2023.

Sentinels will face LOUD tomorrow for 3 championship points and VCT Americas Kickoff 2024 title.
