Rocket League Releases New Training Pack Codes

Rocket League is one of those games that requires a certain level of skill, and acquiring those skills isn’t as easy as new players may want it to be. There’s a huge number of shots and goal opportunities that may be missed if players haven’t practised the skill shots, which is probably why Rocket League has announced a new pack of training codes on Twitter.

The codes were met with further questions and requests from players on Twitter but others should be able to find some use for the new training. It’s certainly a lot more detailed than other releases! Of course, this isn’t the first time new training has been released and probably won’t be the last but fans looking to improve skills are in the right place!

New codes - what is the new training?

There is a whole list of new training codes to try depending on the different kinds of skills players need to train. Not only that, but some skills include helping players read the moves of the other team too:

  • Aerial practice (shots taken from the air)
  • Parallel-to-net goalkeeping
  • Dribble
  • Protein aerials
  • 3v3 skills
  • Side to side movements
  • Ground and pound
  • Reading the wall
  • Goalkeep mix.

While some of these are pretty self explanatory, even for those who are brand new to the game, some might require a little more explanation! It’s always going to be important to practice shooting from the air but other skills shouldn’t be discounted either.

Ground and pound

This new type of shot was released in 2018. It involves a car using a boost to go high up in the air and then land almost completely on top of the ball. However, if players can hit it at a light angle, they can move the ball enough to propel it into the goal. This kind of shot is difficult and commonly used by pros.

Reading the wall

Less of a skill shot in itself and more a way of anticipating the next move of the ball, reading the wall is a higher level skill. It goes without saying that knowing how the ball is going to move can help players understand the other team’s next moves.

Training - worth your time

While a lot of players will probably want to just jump straight into games, those who want to refine their skills should look at using the new training. Rocket League announced the codes via their official Twitter channels on October 28th. Following the release, their feed was inundated with requests for other training codes, custom maps and extra features for console gamers.

It’s a good start for training and if Rocket League heeds the reactions, fans should hopefully be treated to even more. As the game gains popularity, particularly among fans of pro gaming and younger gamers, it seems that Rocket League is only just getting started.
