Counter-Strike 2 developers have reinstated PARIVISION in the Europe RMR for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, the Russian organization announced on their social media accounts.

PARIVISION initially secured a spot in the Europe RMR by winning the closed European qualifier. However, Perfect World, the Tournament Organizers for the Shanghai Major, disqualified the team after discovering that their coach, Ivan "F_1N" Kochugov, was present in the same room as the players during a match.

Valve previously banned F_1N from participating in Majors due to his involvement in the infamous coaching bug scandal.

Apparently, F_1N had appealed to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) several months ago. The appeal led to a reduction in his punishment, allowing him to participate in Majors once again.

However, ESIC failed to notify Valve of this decision, leading to the initial disqualification of PARIVISION.

Upon learning about the reduction of F_1N's punishment, Valve reviewed the situation and decided to overturn the disqualification. PARIVISION will now continue their campaign in the Europe RMR tournament.

The last chance qualifier canceled

With the new decision to overturn PARIVISION’s disqualification, the last chance qualifier will no longer take place on the 27th.

Initially, the LCQ included BLEED, Monte, and KOI, all of whom finished Closed Qualifier A with a 2-3 record.

“As we have now been informed that PARIVISION will have their Shanghai Major RMR eligibility reinstated, the last-chance qualifier originally scheduled for August 27 is canceled and will no longer be played.”

In their official Appeal Decision, ESIC stated that Valve has communicated and accepted the decision.

“After careful consideration, the independent Appeal Chair has decided in favour of reducing Mr. Kochugov’s demerit points based on the appeal’s merits and the compelling evidence provided by him. This reduction has a direct impact on his eligibility, making him able to participate in the forthcoming Major, as it also leads to a reduction in his Valve sanctioned RMR exclusion period. This change has been communicated to and accepted by Valve.”
