With the launch of the Overwatch Championship Series (OWCS) in 2025, Blizzard has officially confirmed that the nine OWCS Partner Teams will be receiving exclusive in-game cosmetics as part of the new initiative. These team-branded skins will debut during the OWCS 2025 Midseason Championship, which will be held as part of the Esports World Cup 2025, taking place from July to August.

Blizzard’s partnership program includes a mix of powerhouse organizations across three major regions:

EMEA:

North America:

Asia:

These organizations were selected after an open application process, which concluded on December 2nd, 2024. Only these nine teams were granted partner status for the 2025 season.

In-Game Items and Revenue Sharing

Fans can look forward to a variety of team cosmetics, including Team Packs and a new OWCS Legendary Skin. Blizzard confirmed that these items will roll out alongside the Midseason Championship, offering a global spotlight for both teams and their fans. While not officially confirmed, it's likely that a portion of the revenue from these cosmetics will be shared with the teams—mirroring models used in titles like VALORANT and Rainbow Six Siege.

This revenue-sharing system helps bolster organizational sustainability while giving fans a tangible way to support their favorite teams in-game.

Seasonal Rotation and Exclusive Content

With OWCS introducing a promotion and relegation system in 2025, these skins may rotate based on a team’s status in the league. This suggests that team cosmetics could be time-limited or tied to a team's continued presence in the partner program.

The OWCS Legendary Skin may also follow a model similar to VALORANT Champions skins—exclusive, available only for a limited period, and tightly integrated with the esports calendar.

Blizzard’s move to launch team-branded cosmetics during a premier global event like the Esports World Cup underscores its renewed focus on esports integration. These skins won’t just be digital collectibles—they’ll be symbols of fandom, performance, and the evolving Overwatch 2 competitive scene.
