Now China Awakens: JD Gaming confirms signing of Ruler and Knight for 2023 LPL roster
Titans Unite
Top tier LPL organization JD Gaming has officially confirmed their 2023 roster, and it includes former Gen.G AD Carry Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and Top Esports mid laner Zhuo “knight” Ding. This comes on the heels of news that Top Esports have signed former Victory 5 and Invictus Gaming Mid Laner Rookie. “Rookie” and “knight” are two of the greatest mid laners the LPL has produced, and they crossed eyes as “Rookie” takes on “knight’s” former post.

Meanwhile, “knight” replaces long-time mid laner Zeng “Yagao” Qi, who was announced to have left the organization late last month. “knight” ended a four-year-long term with Top Esports for the move. “Ruler,” who himself left Gen.G in the wake of a disappointing semi-finals exit after four years with the organization, now begins a new term on JD Gaming as their starting AD Carry.
With both long-tenured players announcing their move for 2023, it marks a potential new era for not just the LPL and LCK, but also League of Legends.

JD Gaming, LPL Superteam
JD Gaming has already capped off their 2022 run with a semifinals finish at Worlds 2022, losing to T1 in 3-1 fashion. Top laner Bai “369” Jia-Hao is steadily proving himself as one of the best top laners in the world, and JD Gaming has locked him down into 2023. Jungler Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok and support Lou “Missing” Yun-Feng also remain with the team. With upgrades in the arguably weakest parts of their roster, JD Gaming look set to dominate the LPL in 2023.
Despite historically strong showings from Top Esports as one of the best in the LPL, “knight” and his team fell in the group stage of Worlds 2022. They were the only LPL team to not make it into playoffs. While “Ruler” made it deeper in Worlds, Gen.G too fell short of expectations, losing to eventual winners DRX.
JD Gaming’s new assembly of players sees the creation of yet another superteam emerging in pro League of Legends in 2023.
JD Gaming's new roster is now as folllows:
- Bai "369" Jia-Hao
- Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok
- Zheo "knight" Ding
- Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk
- Wang "Hope" Jie (Sub AD Carry?)
- Lou "Missing" Yun-Feng
