Nigma Galaxy was in a rough patch this season. Despite having a star-studded roster, the team got relegated to Division II again after losing a crucial tiebreakers series against Entity. Before the start of the Spring Tour, Nigma Galaxy went through a coach change. However, success eludes them. Despite their misfortunes, a bit of luck was on Nigma Galaxy’s side. When PSG.LGD withdrew from ESL One’s DreamLeague Season 19, Nigma Galaxy accepted an offer to fill the spot.

Going into Dream League Season 19, Nigma Galaxy announced their roster changes ahead of the Summer Tour. The fans’ favourite hard-carry player Amer “Miracle-” Al Bakawi, returned as a standin' for the team.

A Disappointing Debut

With Miracle-’s return, all eyes were on Nigma Galaxy on DreamLeague’s debut day. Even with the return o their star player, Nigma Galaxy struggled. In their DreamLeague debut match against OG, despite having a net worth lead in game 1, NGX struggled to close it out. Eventually, due to their mistakes, OG, with their midlane Tinker and a hard carry Slark, stalled out game 1. As their cores came online, OG choked NGX off the map and was able to close out game 1. Game 2 was even more one-sided as OG stomped NGX despite Sumail’s and Miracle’s best efforts.

The next series was even more gruesome for NGX. In their series against Beastcoast, Beastcoast completely dominated both games. In game 1, even though Miracle- played marvellously on his safelane hard carry Bloodseeker, it wasn’t enough. Beastcoast’s Alchemist draft got everything they wanted out of the game and closed out game 1.

In game 2, NGX won the laning stage. However, Beastcoast successfully halted NGX’s aggression once the laning stage ended and applied their pressure back to NGX. It was too much for NGX to handle, and at 28 minutes, NGX tapped out of game 2.

A Hopeful Way Back

Currently, Nigma Galaxy is at the bottom of the group, tied with Nouns. Even though NGX has a disappointing day on day 1, they still have hope. As the group stages are Bo2, every match will now be crucial for NGX if they want to advance to the next stage of DreamLeague.
