Nigma Galaxy had a rough year after getting promoted in the 2022-2023 DPC season; the team struggled in Division I. They barely managed to hold on to their spot in the Winter Tour, but in the Spring Tour, Nigma Galaxy got relegated to Division II for the second time. Recently, there were rumours that Nigma Galaxy considered following in OId G’s footsteps.

The Deal

The slot Nigma attempted to purchase was from China Division I. The team supposedly offered $100 000 USD to get the Division I slot from Piggy Killers. Piggy Killers planned to sell their Division I slot for money.

However, they turned down the offer from Nigma Galaxy because the team members didn’t want to send a team from another region to The International representing the Chinese region. Nigma Galaxy failed their desperate region-hopping plan to secure a ticket for this year’s The International. Thus, they will have to play their  Division II matches and will need to go through The International qualifiers to earn their seat at this year’s Ti.

Struggling Nigma and Lucky Sumail

If Nigma Galaxy fails to secure their Ti ticket this year, it will mark the third consecutive year where Kuroky and the boys fail to attend The International. The team had gone through various changes to achieve the results they had back in their glory days. However, none of it came close to them being with Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan.

Sumail joined Nigma in the final tour of the 2021-2022 DPC season. With his help, the team got promoted back to Division I for the 2022-2023 DPC season. However, even with his help, the team failed to secure the ticket to Ti as Team Secret eliminated them in The International 2022 Qualifiers. Team Secret eventually went on to become the runner-up at The International 2022.

In the 2022-2023 DPC season, Nigma barely scrapes by. However, after getting an eye-opener at The Berlin Major, Sumail quickly accepted the offer from Team Aster. With Team Aster, Sumail dominated the Summer Tour, making Team Aster the first team to qualify for The Bali Major.
