The new season of League of Legends has seen unrelenting waves of changes being made to the game. While some of these have been easier to adjust to than others, there is one new coming change which is sure to please everybody.

In the upcoming days, Riot Games will introduce the Ranked Rollback system into League of Legends, refunding any LP lost in games where an opponent was found to have been cheating.

Ranked rollback: A welcome addition

Through Riot Vanguard, games from the industry giant such as VALORANT or League of Legends have vastly improved on their cheat detection. Now, if you lose a game against a cheater in League, Vanguard will automatically refund the lost LP once the cheater is found by the system.

The feature, which has already been announced  for VALORANT, promises to make climbing the ranked ladder in League of Legends a fairer experience, eliminating the frustration generated by playing against cheaters. And the best part of the system is that, thanks to Vanguard, the entire process will be done automatically, from cheater detection to LP refund.

The date for the official introduction of the Ranked Rollback system to League of Legends is yet to be announced, though we expect it to be tied to one of the coming patches.

The fight continues

While Ranked Rollback will be a welcome addition to the game, the truth is it only serves to improve player experience. The introduction of the new system will not necessarily affect cheating itself, meaning the fight against one of the most recurring problems in video games must go on.

With the introduction of Vanguard, hundreds of thousands of cheaters are being constantly banned across different Riot Games titles. The issue, however, is not gone in its entirety.

Rest assured, though, now you will no longer lose that precious LP to cheaters moving forward.
