When the Eye is blinded and the Heart falters, the Fist must strike all the harder.

The arrival of Spirit Blossom has brought much change to League of Legends. After getting a new-look Summoner's Rift, new objectives, skins, and more, Act 2 of Season 2 will now also see the arrival of a brand new champion to the game.

As the latest ADC addition to the roster, Yunara's story saw her sacrifice herself during the Darkin War, causing her to become confined to the Spirit Realm. Centuries passed until Yunara was finally able to return to the Mortal Realm, into Ionian lands she is hardly able to recognize.

If you're eager to try out the newest champion, then rest assured you won't have to wait long! Yunara is set to release to League of Legends when Patch 25.14 goes live on Wednesday, July 16th, marking the first new AD carry to hit the game since Smolder back at the start of 2024.

Yunara: Kit and Abilities

A long time coming, the release of the new champion marks a return to an auto-attack-focused AD carry for the first time in years. This means that, though Yunara's abilities will look and feel entirely fresh, it should not take long for veteran or new marksman players alike to get used to her kit and playstyle.

Here's a rundown of what you can expect from Yunara's abilities once her release hits:

  • [P] Vow to the First Lands: Yunara’s critical strikes deal extra magic damage.
  • [Q] Cultivation of Spirit: Yunara gains a stack of Unleash with every attack, plus an extra one when she hits a champion or lands a crit. At max stacks, Yunara can activate this ability to gain attack speed, bonus damage on hit, and will deal splash damage in a small area with each attack. This ability is automatically activated while Yunara is Transcended.
  • [W] Arc of Judgment / Arc of Ruin: Yunara sends a swirling prayer bead out, which damages and slows enemies as it travels. At its endpoint, it lingers and expands for a moment, continuing to damage enemies who don’t get out of the way. While Transcended, instead of a swirling prayer bead, she fires a beam of spirit magic that slows and deals damage in a line.
  • [E] Kanmei’s Steps / Untouchable Shadows: Yunara gains a quick burst of move speed, increased when chasing down enemy champions. While Transcended, she instead dashes.
  • [R] Transcend One’s Self: Activate to become Transcended, enhancing all of Yunara's basic abilities for the duration.

Gameplay: A return to the basics

With a straightforward kit and gameplay, Yunara is bound to feel much like the ADCs of old with a focus on positioning and ramping up damage. Interestingly, her Passive (Vow to the First Lands) dealing additional magic damage on critical strikes should give the champion a good mix of physical and magic damage, potentially turning Yunara into a seamless fit for just about any team composition.

Yunara: Looks and Splash Art

When Yunara arrives to League of Legends, perhaps the first thing you'll notice are her Ionian roots. Graceful in her movement and with an undeniable spiritual feel to her, the new ADC will serve as the perfect representative of The First Lands.

The first Yunara skin will arrive immediately with the new champion's release. In honor of her past and the land of Ionia, the AD carry's first skin will be none other than Spirit Blossom Springs Yunara. Here's a better look at the very first Yunara skin:

When does Yunara release in League of Legends?

To head out there and play the newest AD carry addition to the game, you will not have to wait very long. Yunara will officially release on Wednesday, July 16th, as confirmed by Riot Games.

Donning the title of The Unbroken Faith, the latest champion will land to League of Legends with the arrival of Patch 25.14, during Act 2 of the current Spirit Blossom Beyond Season.

Players everywhere will be glad to hear that, with strong ties to the Season's theme, Yunara will be earnable by simply completing a few missions in-game. This ensures everyone will have access to the new champion at about the same time, evening out the playing field as Yunara looks to take over Summoner's Rift!
