The Positioning Phase of the LTA North 2025 Split 2 has drawn to a close, and teams are ready to move on to the next stage of competition. With Cloud9 claiming the top spot this time around, can the boys in blue hold strong, or will we see another North American team represent the region when MSI comes around?

Now that the groups have taken form, let's take a look at what we can expect from the Group Stage at Split 2 of the LTA North once it kicks off on Saturday, April 26th.

Groups

All eight teams that make up the LTA North have been placed into two groups based on their standings in the Positioning Phase. These groups will look as follows:

Group A

Group B

Cloud9 Dominate the Competition

After an early loss to a young and ambitious 100 Thieves squad to start their Split 2 journey, Cloud9 began to run rampant at the Positioning Phase. Winning their remaining six games after that, C9 topped the standings with a 6-1 finish to secure themselves a comfortable group moving forward.

The team's statement win, however, came on the very last week of matches. Taking on a FlyQuest squad that was yet to lose a game in Split 2, Cloud9 looked utterly dominant to cement their place as the team to beat in the run for the title. Off the back of a stellar performance from Lee "Loki" Sang-min in the mid lane, C9 beat FLY in just 28 minutes of play.

Now for the hard part. With the LTA North only having one spot at MSI 2025, Cloud9 will need to keep up their form for the remainder of Split 2 if they wish to measure of against international competition next.

Fearless Draft Returns

The most exciting part about the start of the Group Stage in Split 2 is, without a doubt, the return of Fearless Draft to the LTA North. Over the course of the Positioning Phase, all matches were Bo1, which means champion pools were hardly put to the test.

Given that matches over the course of the Group Stage will be Bo3, expect some new strategies and exciting picks to come your way. Lasting a total of four weeks, this stage of competition culminates with a Cross Group Battle on the final week to decide which six teams will move on to the Playoffs and fight for a chance to represent their region at MSI.

Catch all of the upcoming LTA action every Saturday and Sunday, with matches starting at 1 pm PT / 10 pm CET.
