The very best League of Legends teams in North America are set to return to the stage when the 2025 LTA North Split 2 kicks off this Saturday, April 5th. With a brand new format and an exciting opening weekend, Split 2 will see the eight teams in the North compete to lift the second LTA trophy of the year, as well as a shot at representing the region at the upcoming MSI 2025.

Let's go ahead and take a closer look at everything you need to know about the LTA North Split 2.

Opening Matches

Top-flight League of Legends returns to North America with opening weekend of the LTA North Split 2. With exciting matchups to kick things off, here's what you can expect from the new split's opening matches:

Team Liquid vs FlyQuest [Saturday, April 5th - 1 pm PT / 9 pm CET]

What are arguably the two best teams in the league face off once more in a repeat of the last LCS Finals. Though FlyQuest put on a great showing at Worlds 2024, they fell short during the course of Split 1 earlier this year. As for Team Liquid, the team failed to make the most out of their trip to First Stand 2025, and will now have to deal with a tough opening game to kick off Split 2 in the LTA.

Despite their struggles in Split 1, we expect FlyQuest to have had enough time to understand what they need to do to return to the top of the league, and should be able to take the win over Team Liquid to start their Split 2 journey on a good note.

Shopify Rebellion vs Dignitas [Saturday, April 5th - 2 pm PT / 10 pm CET]

Though neither of these teams should be expected to do great things in Split 2, Shopify Rebellion have put up an interesting roster that combines experience with playmaking capabilities. Still a step below the top teams in the league, SR will want to put up a strong showing in their opening match against Dignitas to send a warning to the rest of the teams in the North as they look to climb the standings.

100 Thieves vs Cloud9 [Saturday, April 5th - 3 pm PT / 11 pm CET]

This may well be a battle to decide which team looks better positioned to give Team Liquid and FlyQuest a run for their money. Though 100 Thieves made it all the way to the Grand Finals of the LTA in Split 1, the team got swept by Team Liquid to remain one step away from the trophy.

To show the team has leveled up since then, 100 Thieves will need to secure a win against a Cloud9 squad that are as cohesive on the rift as they are aggressive.

LYON vs Disguised [Saturday, April 5th - 4 pm PT / 12 am CET (day after)]

Unfortunately for LYON and Disguised, the match offers little more than the prospect of a consolation win for either squad. The truth is neither of these two teams look ready to compete with the rest of the LTA any time soon, and will be looking to get the most out of the experience in Split 2 as they continue their progression.
