The first day of The Lima Major had concluded with some teams exceeding expectations. However, there’re some issues regarding production leaving English-viewing fans upset on the first day. The official English broadcast for the tournament was littered with delays and overlay problems leaving the English-viewing fans to question the quality of the production. Other broadcasts apart from the English broadcast had no issues.

The Issues

There were various issues in the English broadcast during the first of the tournament, ranging from bugs to match delays to panels talking over each. The viewers also expressed their general dislike for overlay coverage of the in-game action saying “  hurts my eyes and head just to look at it ”. Fans were expecting a higher production value given that PGL has been absent from the scene however with the current setup some fans are saying that they would rather take back PGL's controversial broadcast.

There was much debate about the production panel as well while some fans liked the “local touch” of the panel some expressed their dislike.

Hints?

The Lima Major was the most hyped major thus far and the organisers even dropped an anthem for the Major on the first day of the group stages.

However, some people believe there were subtle hints about the production quality when the organisers did a live broadcast for the group stage draws.  The tournament’s production for Dota 2 has been getting worse each year however the teams had been making up for the lacklustre production for quite some time now.  The broadcast for day 1 had left fans with a sour taste but they hope day 2 will feature a better broadcast with slightly fewer issues.
