With the LEC 2025 Winter Split heading towards the playoffs, the regular season saw new, exciting storylines to follow while continuing to deliver top-tier League of Legends to watch despite a slight decrease in viewership. Meanwhile, across the globe, the LTA North continues to struggle to draw viewers in with the LEC putting up nearly 4 times larger viewership numbers.

Here are the viewership numbers for the LEC Winter Split Regular Season and the LTA North Split 1 in 2025 so far:

  • LEC Winter Split:
    • Peak: 592,717 viewers
    • Average: 320,305 viewers
  • LTA North Split 1:
    • Peak: 148,603 viewers
    • Average: 88,901 viewers

There's hope yet for the LTA

With the splits not over yet, hope remains for the LEC and LTA in terms of increased viewership during the playoffs. This is particularly true for the LTA, however, a league that revolves entirely around the merger, and competition, of North and South American League of Legends.

In a recent interview with Mark Zimmerman, commissioner of the LTA, he was enthusiastic about combining the power of North American teams and the passion of South American fans:

"We're excited to see the intensity and the passion of the Brazilian community come out and defend their home ground, in a sense, against the North teams as they go in there and they fight for that single spot to attend the First Stand. So, we think that will lead to some really fun moments, a lot of passion, and we want to capitalize on that as much as we can."

Now, with the first LTA cross-conference tournament fast approaching, the hope is that LTA viewership will be able to sore to new heights. While we will all be eager to find out if this turns out to be the case, one thing is for certain, the best of the LTA is yet to come.
