The top League of Legends teams in Europe will return to the stage once more when the 2025 LEC Summer Split kicks off on August 2nd! This time, though, the final LEC Split of the year will feature a new-look Group Stage for the region.

From the new format, to the addition of a new team to the league as well as no more Bo1's, the LEC Summer Split promises to deliver seven exciting weeks of action as teams battle for a spot at Worlds 2025.

New Format: What to Expect

To kick off the LEC Summer Split 2025, the league will head in a new direction as the ten teams are split into two groups. Here's everything you need to know about the new format:

  • Groups Phase:
    • Two groups: 5 teams each
    • Single round-robin
    • Matches are Bo3
    • Top 2 teams from each group advance to Playoffs
    • Group A #3 team faces off against Group B #4 team (and vice versa) in a Bo5 match for a Playoffs spot
  • Playoffs:
    • Six teams
    • Double elimination-bracket
    • Bottom two teams from the Group Stage start in the Lower Bracket
    • All matches are Bo5
    • Top three teams qualify for Worlds 2025

If you're thinking about attending the 2025 LEC Summer Finals in person in Madrid later this year, make sure to check our guide for the finals, which includes information on tickets, the venue, dates, and more.

With no more Bo1's in sight, it's time for Fearless Draft to truly shine in the LEC once the Summer Split comes around! For now, though, it's back to MSI 2025 to watch the best teams from all over the world take each other on.
