Riot Games is turning up the heat with Patch 25.10, delivering what may turn out to be one of the most impactful League of Legends updates of 2025 so far. From sweeping champion adjustments and long-requested item reworks to early groundwork for the Summer competitive meta, this patch is more than just your average balance tune-up.

Whether you're climbing solo queue or keeping an eye on the pro scene, the new patch is poised to reshape how the game is played across all levels. So, let's have a look at some of the biggest changes hitting the Rift when Patch 25.10 of League of Legends goes live on Wednesday, May 14th.

"Hopefully we can stick the balance better this time; 5th time's (or whatever number it is) the charm."

One of the most important changes coming to the game with Patch 25.10 will be the return of Senna to the AD carry role (yes, again). Currently, The Redeemer is being played almost exclusively as a support, but that is all expected to change soon.

Starting with the new patch, the spawn rate of her Mist Wraiths will go all the way up to 14% for minions killed by Senna herself. This, coupled with a buff to the amount of Critical Strike Chance earned through Mist stacks, means that ADC Senna will scale far better, and faster, than she did before.

Will these changes be enough to bring Senna back to the pro scene after an extended leave of absence? With Fearless Draft in mind, they just may be.

Bungle in the Jungle

The jungle meta is in for a bit of a twist. Vi has stood as one of the most prominent champions in the jungle for a long while now, but that all appears ready to change very soon. Patch 25.10 will introduce damage nerfs to Vi's [Q] Vault Breaker and [R] Cease and Desist, while the scaling in her [W] Denting Blows will be getting buffed in return.

Meanwhile, other junglers who have also grown oppressive are getting nerfs as well in order to bring these more in tune with the rest of the jungle pool. These include champions like Xin Zhao, Naafiri, and Kayn, while Fiddlesticks will instead receive buffs to its AP scalings.

All of these changes, combined with the coming updates to AP items, may well deliver a complete meta shift in the jungle when Patch 25.10 hits League of Legends.

AP Items: Adjustments Across the Board

Coming with Patch 25.10, a large number of AP items will be receiving considerable tweaks with the goal of giving each item a clearer identity. Items like Luden's Companion, Morellonomicon, Nashor's Tooth, and Rabadon's Deathcap, for instance, are all seeing their total gold cost reduced, which will mean a buff to their gold-efficiency.

Other AP items like Cryptbloom, Hextech Rocketbelt, Horizon Focus, Lich Bane, and Stormsurge, will instead receive several tweaks to their stats, passives, and gold costs, in an effort to make these items better at fulfilling their respective roles in the game. Meanwhile, items that have simply taken over the game lately, particularly in the mid lane, such as Liandry's Torment and Seraph's Embrace, are receiving considerable (and much needed) nerfs.

Without a doubt, though, the biggest winner of the AP item wave of tweaks is Bloodletter's Curse, as the near-forgotten item is getting important buffs to its total AP and HP, while also becoming considerably easier to stack up.

"Our goals are to make each of the archetype builds more balanced against each other and more satisfying (eg. haste builds, burst builds, burn builds, etc.) - We're also trying to make items more viable on users and balance more holistically with this in mind."

Ready for Patch 25.10?

The arrival of League of Legends Patch 25.10 promises much change for the game. Only the second patch of the newly released Season 2, you will get a chance to test out the new jungle meta for yourself or take the new-look AP items for a spin when Patch 25.10 releases on May 14th.
