Faker and Chovy finally join forces in LCK Season Opening

As always, the LCK is set to start a new year of top flight League of Legends in style with the LCK Season Opening 2025 tournament. A type of showmatch tournament, the event will take place on January 10th, exactly five days before the start of the inaugural LCK Cup.

The event, which will feature the new Noxus-themed rift, will be an exciting return for the game to our screens. So, let's take a better look at what the LCK Season Opening 2025 tournament will look like.

LCK Season Opening 2025 Teams

For this fun and exciting event, one captain was assigned for each of the five positions in League of Legends. For this year's LCK Season Opening, the five captains are: Kiin (top), Peanut (jungle), Faker (mid), Gumayusi (bot) and Delight (support).

Each captain selected four LCK players from the same position as themselves to make up their teams. In the end, this is what the five teams will look like:

LCK Season Opening 2025 Format

The tournament will feature a single elimination bracket, with all games taking place on Friday, January 10th. All matches will be best-of-one.

The biggest winners of the event will, no doubt, be the fans. Not only will the 2025 LCK Season Opening provide a fun set of games to watch as we await the official return of the LCK, but fans are also set to win skins gifted to them by the winners of the tournament!
