Recently, Ammar “ AMMAR_THE_F”  Al-Assaf was seen playing as a standin’ for Quest Esports at European Pro League Season 8. His standin’ caught attention in the Dota 2 community as he was benched for Miracle-’s return at DreamLeague Season 19. Moreover, Quest Esports also parted ways with their offlaner last week, and a lot of fans speculate that  AMMAR_THE_F could be the team’s new offlaner.

Good Debut, Yet still struggling

AMMAR_THE_F was put into the limelight when he joined the revamped OG in 2021. It was a highly controversial move back at the time. Despite the backlashes, Ammar quickly became the fan favourite due to his toxic playstyle and proficiency in his offlane role. Ammar plays a crucial role in OG’s run at ESL One Stockholm Major, where the team was crowned champions. During their Major run, OG created a meta around Ammar so that he could play carry from the offlane role.

AMMAR_THE_F joined the Nigma Galaxy for DPC 2022-2023 season. Despite their all-star roster, Nigma Galaxy is a struggling team, trying to find its footing. After Ammar joined Nigma Galaxy, the team managed to keep their spot at Division I at the end of the Winter Tour. In the Spring Tour despite their best efforts, Nigma Galaxy got relegated to Division II for the Summer Tour.

Not Uncommon But Highly Questionable

It is common for Dota 2 players to play as a stand-in for the events, especially if their team didn’t make it. With their midlaner playing for Team Aster and their offlane playing for OG in The Berlin Major, Nigma Galaxy has half its roster playing as standin’. However, However, the strange factor is that this wasn’t publicly announced. Ammar has previously stated that he doesn’t know where he currently stands in Nigma Galaxy. Based on Ammar’s statements and Nigma Galaxy's frequent role swaps and roster shuffles, the team’s roles are in jeopardy. With the team's recent relegation to Division II, Nigma Galaxy has no official upcoming matches.
