Important Buffs and Nerfs on patch 7.39b

Not long after patch 7.39 dropped, we were quickly met with a lettered sequel — patch 7.39b. Despite its swift release, this follow-up was a much-needed balance update, smoothing out some of the overpowered elements introduced in the previous version.

Given that patch 7.39b is relatively small in scope, we’ll focus on the most impactful buffs and nerfs. For those interested in a complete breakdown, you can find the full patch notes on the official Dota 2 website.

Bloodseeker: No More Instant Silence

The return of Bloodseeker’s silence caused quite a stir — especially since Bloodrage had no cast point, making it an instant-silence spell. Patch 7.39b fixes that oversight by adding a 0.3-second cast point, giving opponents a critical window to react.

Enigma: Smarter Eidolons

Enigma received a subtle but meaningful improvement to Demonic Summoning. Now, when Eidolons multiply, the new units will automatically target the same enemy as the original one. This removes the need for constant micromanagement when split-pushing or farming lanes.

Patch 7.39b gives Enigma players a small quality of life update.

Nature's Prophet: Sapling Overhaul

Patch 7.39 introduced a new Soothing Saplings facet, which caused Sprout to create healing trees in a wide 1200 AoE. Each tree had a 175 radius healing aura — but in 7.39b, that AoE has been reduced to 900 to keep things more balanced.

On the flip side, his Nature's Profit facet was slightly buffed — now granting more gold based on enemy hero levels. Lastly, Wrath of Nature was nerfed, losing 10 base damage at all levels.

Omniknight: Core Dream Derailed?

Patch 7.39b seems to take aim at core Omniknight by nerfing Hammer of Purity — increasing its cooldown and reducing early damage. These changes nudge him back toward his traditional support role, though it remains to be seen how the meta responds.

Templar Assassin: Light Touch

After enjoying a streak of buffs and slight dominance, Templar Assassin has finally been nudged back. Refraction now deals slightly less bonus damage and costs more mana to cast. Despite this, she remains a strong pick and will likely stay in the meta.
