The month of April has been packed with action in the world of competitive Counter-Strike, with major events like the BLAST Paris Major RMRs and IEM Rio taking place. The tournaments have seen plenty of upsets and standout performances, resulting in movements within the top 30 world rankings.

After an impressive run of form, Heroic has claimed the top spot in the rankings, dethroning G2 who had held the position since February. Despite being defeated in the grand finals of IEM Rio, Heroic's consistency and impressive performances throughout the month have earned them the number one ranking heading into the BLAST Paris Major.

Current Form:

The Danish team kicked off the month by breezing through the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR B with a perfect 3-0 record, showcasing their dominance against underdog teams like Aurora and Monte. Their strong form continued into IEM Rio, where they defeated top teams like FURIA and Natus Vincere en route to the Grand Final. Although they ultimately fell to Vitality, Heroic's impressive performances throughout the month have cemented their status as one of the most consistent and elite teams in the game.

Vitality, on the other hand, has hit their stride at just the right time, positioning themselves at the number two spot in the world rankings ahead of the BLAST Paris Major. The team has long been considered a powerhouse, boasting a talented AWPer and multiple Major winners on their roster. However, they have often struggled to live up to their potential. This has not been the case in recent months, with the team sporting a 14-3 match record in March and April. Their strong performances culminated in a tournament victory at IEM Rio, further solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the game.

Around the World:

The rise of Heroic and Vitality has been notable, but they are not the only teams to make moves in the rankings. 9INE, a relatively unknown team, took the tier two scene by storm this year and capitalized on that momentum by completing a flawless 3-0 run through the more stacked of the two European RMRs. Their impressive performance has resulted in a rise to their organization's best-ever ranking of number 19. Meanwhile, BIG has also seen a rise in the rankings, jumping from number 19 to 11 after defeating Heroic 2-0 on their way to a 5-6th placing at IEM Rio.

However, not all teams have had positive movements in the rankings. Eternal Fire has fallen out of the top 30, earning them a dubious mention.

In Conclusion:

The month of April has been full of excitement and movements within the top 30 world rankings of Counter-Strike. Heroic has claimed the number one spot. While Vitality has positioned themselves as a formidable contender for the upcoming BLAST Paris Major. Other teams like 9INE and BIG have also made notable strides, while Eternal Fire has suffered a fall from grace. Fans and spectators alike eagerly await the upcoming tournaments and events to see how these teams will continue to perform and evolve.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
