G2 Esports are one of the biggest names in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and have been a consistent Tier S team in the scene. But they always miss out on closing a final. Despite the talents on the roster, G2 CSGO always seem to miss a beat. They fail to achieve what they seem capable of. They added big names, but 2022 was another terrible slump for the team. Despite adding m0NESY to the roster, the team needed help to achieve significant results. The team had a 1092-day trophy drought, which ended at the Blast Premier World Finals.

G2 CSGO history and Legacy:

G2 started their CSGO division by acquiring the ex-ESC roster. They later signed Kinguin with Scream, rain, Maikelele, fox, and dennis. Faze Clan later acquired the team, and G2 signed the former Titan. The team consisted of Scream, Shox, Ex6Tenz, SmithZz and RpK. body replaced Ex6Tenz on the roster. The team has had moderate success, and the duo of Scream and Shox gained massive popularity.

Soon after the struggle, the team traded Scream and RpK to Envy for KennyS and NbK, and SmithZz moved to the coaching position. This team was dubbed the French Superteam. While the team started strong, they failed to achieve consistent success, leading to internal problems.

Multiple players joined and left the team. The recent roster adding the young prodigal m0NESY, Australian support jks, Hooxi and the cousins NiKo and hunter. The team came close to winning the first major after CSGO's return on LAN, but a rare miss from NiKo shifted the momentum, and G2 esports lost the Major final. The team has struggled since then, missing the last major of 2022.

The Blast Premier World Finals Run:

The team had a strong run at the Blast Premier Fall finals, and coming into the Blast Premier World Finals, they weren't the favorites. They started their journey facing the tournament favorites Faze Clan. Despite their strong start in the series, they fell to Faze Clan and lost the series 1-2. Now on the brink of elimination, the team faced the Major Champions and completely dominated the Outsiders 2-0 to secure the last playoff spot.

Facing Zywoo-led Vitality, G2 stomped Vitality on the first map, but Vitality forced the third map. G2 won the third map comfortably to face Faze in a revenge match. Faze started strong, but G2 came back to win the first map. They returned in the second map to win the series 2-0.

G2 Esports faced Team Liquid in the finals and completely outplayed the team to win the series and the Blast Premier World Finals trophy. This win came after a long time for G2 Esports. This was also the first International LAN trophy for Hooxi, m0NESY and Hunter, and it was a long drought for Niko. The win will surely put G2 Esports in a good place for the upcoming CSGO year, and they will convert their strong team into a winning one.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
