In shocking fashion, FlyQuest ran over Cloud9 in round 2 of the LCS Championship on Sunday (August 25th).

With their statement victory, FlyQuest joins Team Liquid as the first two LCS teams to qualify for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship.

FlyQuest take over

Following their 0-2 loss at the hands of C9 on the last day of the LCS Summer Season, FLY finished the split in 3rd place with a 5-2 record. Now at the LCS Championship, FlyQuest's thirst for revenge was palpable.

Despite a first game loss, FLY looked in control all series long, as even that first game was arguably one that FlyQuest should have won.

The team had C9's nexus in their sights after a convincing team fight victory, but just barely failed to cross the finish line.

With their nexus only a few hits away from destruction, C9's members respawned just in time to wipe FLY from their base, eventually closing out the game themselves.

From then on, however, it was nothing but FLY.

Taking the following two games of the series in long, yet convincing games, FlyQuest's deadliest punch came right before the curtain closed.

With a 2-1 lead in the series, FLY showed up to the fourth game with a statement to make. After some fantastic early set-ups, the team quickly propelled themselves in gold, and simply never looked to let on from there.

In the end, Cloud9 failed to secure a single kill for the entirety of game 4, with FLY closing out the game in 26 minutes with a 14-0 kill scoreline.

Result: Cloud9 1-3 FlyQuest

The show must go on

Catch all of the LCS Championship action to find out which LCS team will be the last one to join Team Liquid and FlyQuest on their way to Worlds.

Dignitas will have a shot at revenge against 100 Thieves on Friday (August 30th), with the winner of that series facing Cloud9 on Sunday (September 1st) for the final LCS spot at Worlds.

Meanwhile, on the top side of the bracket, Team Liquid and the hungry FlyQuest will battle it out to decide the first grand finalist of the tournament on Saturday (August 31st).

All of this year's LCS Championship action will be live streamed on the official Twitch and YouTube channels for the LCS.
