After a blazing start to the 2025 season in League of Legends esports, Fearless Draft looks set to stick around for a while. Though the addition of this exciting new system was originally planned to be used only for the first split in major leagues across the world, as well as First Stand, Riot Games is now aiming to bring back Fearless Draft for the remainder of the season.

According to a report by Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger, Fearless Draft will be returning to the LEC, LTA, LCK, LPL and LCP for the entirety of 2025, as well as for the two remaining international tournaments of the year: MSI and Worlds.

What is Fearless Draft?

Fearless Draft is a newly introduced system to competitive League of Legends, implemented to top-tier leagues across the world with the start of the 2025 season. The way it works is simple: any and all champions picked by either team throughout a series will be banned for the remainder of the series.

This means that games within a series remain fresh and exciting as players are forced to dig deeper into their champion pools the longer a match goes.

Good news for viewers worldwide

Riot's decision to bring back Fearless Draft for the remainder of the 2025 season marks a major win for League of Legends esports enthusiasts everywhere.

Traditionally, teams would often trade specific picks back and forth over the course of a series. This kind of hand-shake drafting strategy, however, meant games would become monotonous and tedious for viewers rather quickly.

Now, with Fearless Draft, not only is this no longer possible, but in fact teams are encouraged to practice and bring out new and exciting picks considerably more often.

Fearless Draft has been a fantastic addition to the game's competitive scene, and with Riot Games opting to implement the system for the remainder of the season, Fearless is beginning to look like the future of League of Legends.
