Another phase of the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) Dota 2 Event is complete. The Elimination Phase has cut the original sixteen teams down to eight, who now advance to the Playoffs. In this article, we’ll list the “bottom eight” teams and look ahead at the Top 8 still in the running for the title.

Despite the Elimination Phase featuring best-of-three (BO3) matches, every bracket ended with decisive 2-0 victories. While most brackets saw the second-round seeded teams proving their strength, the clash between Team Falcons and Natus Vincere broke the pattern.

EWC 2025 Dota 2: Elimination Phase Results

After two days of matches in the Elimination Phase of the EWC 2025 Dota 2 event, we now know who moves on. In the first bracket, PARIVISION won the deciding match against Xtreme Gaming. Both teams scored 2-0 victories in earlier rounds, but PARIVISION advances to face Aurora Gaming in the Playoffs, while Xtreme Gaming and Execration are eliminated.

Next, the Gaimin Gladiators continued the trend of second-round seeded teams advancing. They defeated Team Yandex 2-0 and now move on to face Team Spirit in the Playoffs. Meanwhile, Shopify Rebellion and Team Yandex exit the EWC 2025 Dota 2 tournament here.

In the third bracket, Flipster Talon Esports dominated Heroic with a 2-0 sweep to reach the deciding match, but their own run ended the same way — falling 2-0 to Tundra Esports, who will now meet BetBoom Team in the Playoffs. Heroic and Flipster Talon Esports join the “bottom eight.”

Finally, Team Falcons beat Virtus.pro 2-0 in the opening match, then broke the streak of second-round seeded teams by defeating Natus Vincere 2-0 as well. NaVi was the only team seeded directly into the second round that failed to reach the Playoffs. As a result, Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere are out of the tournament and Team Falcons will face Team Liquid in the Playoffs.

  • 12:30 GMT — Aurora Gaming vs. PARIVISION

EWC 2025 Dota 2: Playoff Matches to Watch

With the Gaimin Gladiators and Team Falcons seemingly back in form, it would be interesting to root for them as underdogs. On the first day of the Playoffs, the Gaimin Gladiators face Team Spirit, who remain one of the tournament favorites.

Meanwhile, Team Falcons, despite limited success recently, defeated Natus Vincere without dropping a game, continuing the 2-0 trend. Now, Malr1ne and the team must overcome the reigning TI champions, Team Liquid, if they hope to break back into the Top 4 at a major event.
