The ESL Pro League Season 17 playoffs kicked off on March 21 with four best-of-three matches in the round of 12. The winners advanced to the Quarterfinals, while the losers were eliminated from the tournament.

Game 1: Outsiders vs NaVi

The round of 16 started off with the two Major Champions facing off against each other.

Map 1 was Ancient, picked by NaVi. Outsiders had the better first half at 8-7. But NaVi had a stellar CT-side in the second half. They managed to get to Map Point first at 15-11, and even though Outsiders managed to pull through to 14, NaVi won the map 16-14 in round 30.

Map 2 was Mirage, picked by Outsiders. NaVi had a much better start this time around, ending the first half 9-6. They gave Outsiders no breathing room in the second half. Perfecto even got in a nice 1v4 Clutch. They won 5 rounds right off the bat, and took the win 16-7 in quite a commanding fashion.

S1mple sat at the top of the table with 43 kills and a 1.34 rating. But it was Jame with most AWP kills at 22.

Game 2: ENCE vs G2

Game 2 was the most surprising of all, as ENCE eliminated G2 from the playoffs. Both maps, Ancient and Vertigo went the way of ENCE. But G2 did not go down without a fight. The youngster m0NESY topped the AWP kills on both maps at 14 and 10 respectively. But it was not enough as Snappi and the boys managed to win the series 2-0. A large part of this victory could be attributed to ENCE’s immaculate T-side, which left G2 searching for answers.

NertZ lead the table with 47 kills to his name, and a 1.40 rating overall.

Game 3: Faze Clan vs Furia

Game 3 brought us an exciting matchup between former Major Champions Faze, and Brazilian Powerhouse Furia. Karrigan and his boys had an easy run against the Brazilians, as they managed to sweep the series 2-0.

Faze were the better team on both maps Anubis and Nuke. Both their T-side and CT-side looked quite strong. Furia however, looked like a fish out of water, as they scrambled to make something happen in the rounds. Broky even managed to steal a round from them in a 1v2 clutch.

Broky and Rain absolutely stomped on everyone else with 38 kills a piece, but it was the Latvian at the top of the table with a 1.31 rating.

Game 4: MOUZ vs paiN Gaming

The final game of the night was the only one to go all three maps. paiN Gaming looked quite strong on Map 1: Nuke, where they had a CT-side masterclass to win the map 16-9.

However, this just woke MOUZ from their slumber, as they then proceeded to win both maps. On Inferno, MOUZ returned the favor by showing paiN an astounding T-side at 10-5. Although paiN tried to bring it back, they fell short at 16-13.

On the final map of Ancient, MOUZ had an even easier time, as paiN were just unable to fight back on their T-side. Giving MOUZ the victory at 16-7.

Torzsi was playing absolutely out of his mind, leading the table with 63 kills, 28 AWP kills, 17 First Kills, and a 1.34 rating.

Conclusion:

NaVi, ENCE, Faze Clan and MOUZ move on to the Quarterfinals.
