In recent times,  Jacob "yay" Whitaker. yay has been the biggest F/A signings in Valorant. After his short time with the team, Cloud9 let go of yay. The move came after Cloud9 lost to DRX at VCT LOCK//IN. yay was the best player of 2021, and the team that signed yay was none other than Disguised. Content Creator and Offline TV member Disguised Toast owns Disguised Valorant. Let's take a look at the team and its owner.

Who is Disguised Toast?

Holder of one of the best names in Gaming history, at least according to Conan O'Brien, Jeremy Wang is an ex-professional Hearthstone player also known by Disguised Toast. Toast first started making Youtube Videos on Hearthstone. He later switched to streaming and rose in popularity, especially with Riot's Team Fight Tactics.  Toast later joined the collective Offline TV. He signed an exclusive deal with Facebook for streaming and returned to Twitch in 2021.

In 2020, Wang was responsible for bringing Among Us to the limelight. With Among Us' rise in popularity, Wang rose to popularity. Wang's lobby became the centre of the Among Us world. His lobby attracted multiple big names with PewDiepie, Logic and Politician AOC. Disguised Toast became a household name with Among Us.

Disguised Toast and Valorant:

In 2021, Valorant saw a rise in popularity, attracting multiple Offline TV members, including Disguised Toast. Valorant is the perfect game for content creation with simple mechanics. The abilities and agents support all kinds of playstyles. Valorant attracted Disguised Toast. The esports side drew Toast greatly, and he extended his interest in owning a team on a stream.

Around the same time, Riot Games announced the new competitive ecosystem. With only five NA teams and multiple teams having to play the tier 2 Valorant scene, Toast's interest in owning a team only grew as most of the NA player base was available.

Disguised Valorant:

Paraphrasing Toast himself, "I am too far gone to back out now. Once I have said it once on stream, I can't go back." With the idea in full force, Toast turned to Fifflaren, a long-time CS player, and with it, Disguised was established. Disguised started with Ocean as the coach, Steel as the IGL and bringing in Exalt, Xxif, Genghsta and Clear.

The Valorant team qualified for the VCL NA. The team had a strong run in the group stage and qualified for the Midseason Face-off. Unfortunately, they were eliminated by TSM. Before the second split, the roster decided to make changes bringing in yay and nerve instead of Xxif and Exalt. Yay is arguably the biggest signing in recent Valorant.

What makes Disguised so special?

In the current economic environment owning an Esports team is burning a heap of cash. Toast entered the industry despite knowing about it. Unlike people who enter the industry to make a profit, Toast's project was driven by passion. Toast planned to support the team until he could without considering the profit.

Additionally, Toast's plans were transparent, and he wanted the best for the players of his teams. With his background in content creation, Toast understood the importance of content. And he ensured he created it out of everything. Additionally, the content was to provide exposure to the players of Disguised.

Around the same time, Disguised signed a GC team with QuarterJade, Truly Tenzin, Kyedae, Sydeon and Tupperware. The team was created to create exposure for Valorant GC as a whole, and exposure it did create. The first game of Disguised GC saw the highest numbers in Game Changers history. His move to sign his friends saw a lot of criticism, but he answered the criticism. Additionally, Toast had one of the best announcements for Yay, and the social media game for Disguised is one point.

Toast does plan to launch merch but wants to ensure they are upto the quality of the markup price. He has plans for his team and the organisation and has realistic expectations from them. More than anything, he understands the market and the industry and ensures he does this the right way.
